Liverpool (H) - Carabao Cup 4th Round - Post-Match Thread

Great to be back at the Etihad.

Watched the TV coverage of the game today and it really is a corking game. We have to tighten up defensively but from back to front we played some outstanding stuff. Several players looked very fired up after their World Cup exploits.

I'm sure it's my imagination running away with me but playing centre back for Spain seems to have imbued Rodri with some extra aggression, he was a man mountain yesterday. I'm sure we've been told by experts on here that Rodri and Gundo shouldn't play together but they were tremendous together in central midfield yesterday, ably helped by my MotM Rico Lewis, who got double points for being so young and thereby pipped the best player in the world not at PSG.

Dropping them out a cup, lovely reunion.
Love you city

At least they won't be able to repeat the quadruple for 2nd straight season!!
Now we should put 6th gear and conquer Premier League by any means!!
As for Champions League we should give our best there too but too much luck involved there so if we get it ok if we don't it's again ok :)

Brilliant team performance.
Some of the interplay in midfield the best I have seen for a long time. Liverpool are a dangerous team but we outclassed them last night. Gundo impressive , teamed up well with a resurgent Rodri.
Rico was marvellous, De Bruyne looked like a starter and not a liability -;).
Ake a colossus.
Haaland will train on for this outing. Mahrez the best first touch in World football.

Some of the pre match wet lettuces posting on here need a long lie down. Especially the Nelly one.

Very impressed, but that left-back issue is going to kill us, time and again.

Rico was magnificent again, what a talent the boy is. The right amount of aggression, calmness in possession, always in the right place, joining up in midfield.

Promising from Palmer in the first-half but we really need to move the ball quicker to keep Haaland involved.

Will feel more comfortable when Kyle can use his pace to avoid the counters.

Even if he meant Erlings goal and not this miss, it was still onside.

I think he is genuinely talking about the first one 10 seconds in because he says about setting a tone for the match. It's the way he says things with such authority despite obviously not actually seeing it to be able to form a proper opinion. Megabellend.
