Liverpool (H) - FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Nowt wrong with fans pissing off after 60 minutes when 4-0 down, unless it's the self-styled (and media styled) "best fans in the world".
At least the performance gave them an excuse. Not sure why our fans were pissing off early.
In CBLower or whatever it’s called, early leavers in 028 were getting blasted by a very boisterous blue, in fairness more stayed than is usual.

Of the match, pretty even until we scored, their heads went down and the second on HT finished them. Always great to beat that lot and hope Spit enjoyed it, having said that he’s really a toffee so can fall back on that, prick.

In a game won by the hour both Foden and Sav managed to have cameos from hell, it’s bordering on cruelty to play Phil at the moment, his solo lap of honour tells me something is badly wrong and I hope he gets help.

Anyway my hope, Port Vale in the semi and Southampton in the final.

Thought they started the better team with the intense press, neat flicks and interplay, playing with Ekitike outwide and Szobozlai and Wirtz pushing up through the centre caused us to be penned in a little. .

The idea to push O'Reilly further up the field meant Szobozlai had to retreat, Ekitike had to come more central and we played through and nullified the press.

Thought Semenyo was wasted outside for the first 35 but then pushing Cherki out to double up brought him into the game and he was a danger. Loved his attempt from within our own half.

Nunes, Khushanov and O'Reilly battling it out for player of the season now.

Also shout-out to a decent cameo from Savinho with some real direct running stretching their backline when needed.

Brilliant win all round. Penalty save topped it off

City are back.
It was the type of overall performance we enjoyed every week until the last couple of years that has become a bit of a rarity last season and this. If we can sustain this there’s no reason why we wouldn’t be favourites for a cup double and an outside chance of a domestic treble.

Incredible performance.

Thought Liverpool started really well but we grew into the game and were relentless and clinical.

Some amazing individual performances which set us up really nicely ahead of Chelsea next week.
