Be honest - who had 3-0 on their betting slip?
Thought that we were capable of sticking 3 past them (went for 3-2 in PMT) but never even considered a clean sheet. Thought Ekitike, not Salah, would be too hot to handle. He was anonymous.

The Don is the first keeper to keep them out in a league match for over a year. He really does command his area. A genuine turning point, signing him.

Fair play to you men today. Absolutely battered us!! Although I thought our goal being chalked off was harsh, only one team deserved it today.
I must say, the improvement in your team from last years game at anfield to now is impressive. If this Pep rebuild does go on to win the league again, he deserves to have his name alongside fergie as the best

???

He doesn't need to win another league to have his name alongside Fergie as the best. He's already better. Have I just been clarkied?

They were looking at going nine points clear before our game until the last gasp Sunderland equaliser. If that win would have happened, even in spite of our win yesterday, they would still have been six points clear. Now its down to four. That and the way we destroyed Liverpool yesterday is bound to have their arses twitching a bit.
Yes, they've still got to come to the Etihad too, that alone could reduce the gap to 1 point. There's a long way to go yet though, and football is a funny old game. Just look at the scousers, the pundits had already crowned them champions again before the season kicked off after their lavish spending pre season, yet now they look woeful. Arsenal's bubble could pop at any time, we just need to be there to capitalise if it does.

Great afternoon that. I admittedly didn't see that coming, but it was very enjoyable. They looked so ordinary which was a bit surprising. It's about time we have these a pasting though and the lads did a great job. Pep's starting to get a nice tune out of quite a few players now and some of the other squad members can hopefully start to match them. Good to get into this two week break with the confidence in full flow.

When Stines scored V wolves loads said it should’ve been off side maybe the officials learned from their mistakes and gave VVD goal offside. Like they learned from their mistakes with the Rashford goal and Fernandes offside. Swings and roundabouts so fuck them scousers

Errr. Think he surpassed Fergie ages ago - in a far more competitive era when all clubs can spend

Loving the post match meltdowns from the Red cartel!

Pride comes before a fall so the saying goes. They went into this season full of the usual scouse arrogance, buoyed by being title winners, beating us to the Wirtz signing and bullying Newcastle into selling Isak. They then won the first five matches and were going to walk the league...or so they thought. The reality check has been wonderful to watch, long may it continue.

Yes, many of us said we just had to hang onto whoever was leading the table's coat tails for a while until we started to click. After an horrendous start, mainly due to tiredness from the club world cup and no pre season, there were signs we were getting our act together. We are a developing squad and team so there will probably be further blips along the way but the signs are good.

that tactcial move must have been so satisfying for him. It worked perfectly. Small things that have huge results.

I was also wondering whether that was ljinders? Bet that didn’t go unnoticed by lots other managers
The obvious tactic to beat the dippers was attacking down our left. On that side Dippers are one short as Salah doesn’t defend at all.

I’m loving the dipper press and the dipper fans raging that Kavanagh is from Manchester.

The guy has so many rumours he’s a Liverpool fan swirling around him and a blind man could have given that penalty on pitch.

More fool the FA for putting him in charge.
Also officially he’s a Droylesden fan… just like how Taylor is an Altrincham fan.

I remember Bernardo playing for Monaco against us years ago in the Champions League, he was all over the pitch and brilliant with it. Can anyone hazard a guess as to what position he played yesterday? Same as for Monaco brilliant. I know his legs are running out of steam but what a very clever footballer. No wonder Pep is more loyal to him than we are.
