The home game with utd was preceded by fergies taking his squad away to the Welsh countryside for some team bonding exercise..a move heralded by the press as a mangerial master class..brilliant way to relieve the pressure..cue Chris Smalling opeming his big mouth and annoucing from Wales " City will crack"....
Result ?
The most comprehensive of 1nil wins for City,no shots on target from utd,Mancini showing Fergie on the touchline who,exactly,was boss and a thundering Vincent Kompany header for the winner from a corner right below us in The South stand.
On reflection utd should have sorted out their man marking at corners instead of chasing sheep around the valleys...their defensive organisation at that corner was a shambles.
Then came the nerve wracking trip to St James Park....
