Might be an idea to put Ake as the 1st name on the team sheet as he usually has Saleh in his pocket. Build the rest around him.

NOR's having a good season but you can't let him go roaming up front and leave Saleh unattended - he's still too dangerous to be left unattended, imho. He needs to be shut-out.

Only possible change from that line-up would be maybe Stones in for Gvardiol, who’s been a bit sloppy at times in possession recently. And maybe Reijnders instead of Bernardo.

I hope I’m wrong, but I’ve got a feeling Pep’s going to be tempted to play Rodri alongside Nico. It just feels like one of those tactical experiments he won’t be able to resist.
Then we will have Foden, Cherki, Doku and Haaland to start.

Håland too. His sureness went out the window along with everyone else's. It was disconcerting to see how he was putting the ball the wrong side of the post and bar, where he was putting it the right side in his sleep in his first season. Also, in one on ones with the keeper, he didn't look sure of himself, and quite often lost out on them. That's all back.
The team is evolving in the right direction. Now if Rod gets back, and is anything like his old self — I'm not sure about that, mind — I think this team could surprise a few people. Not least, City fans.

I'm starting to believe Rodri is going to be the icing on the cake. The more we can reduce our reliance on him the better IMO

I’d not play Rodri the team is getting an understanding, I don’t think he’s fit enough anyway, Cherki instead of Savinho for me and the rest stays the same, although I think Bernie will play there instead for his running.

That midfield really concerns me against Liverpools. I just can’t see how we get the better of them.

I think he had his best game for us the other night, but good Savio showings are far and few between, so you're probably right .... I doubt if he'd really make much of an impression against Liverpools backline anyway.

We need to pop the ball through to Haaland at every opportunity ....

Might make sense for an away fixture but we really need to have a go at them at home and Ake is not going to do that. Besides he has not played much for us this season and seems undercooked when he does appear. I don't see Pep changing from the back four fielded last Sunday tbh.

It's like their bloody cup final every time and although not as bad as it has been, still seems like we shit ourselves playing them.

So I'm expecting us to lose, sadly. Hoping I'm wrong of course, but expecting the worst. I also expect Pep to make some bizarre decisions and not change it when we are struggling.

This will be the team I reckon. I'm feeling confident but I can also see an annoying draw where we would have deserved 3 pts.

Khushanov when fully fit probably trumps Nunes at rb imo. Nunes this season has certainly improved defensively, but I would still go with Kush if fit.

True but they could say the same about Bernie in midfield for us.

Also Konate has been very shaky this season and I think Haaland can hopefully target him .
