I'd play it like a meaningless friendly and get the missing lads started (if fit). Plus more time for Ortega, Phillips and Alvarez to bed in before points are at stake. And more time for Palmer.

................... Ortega ...................
Walker Stones Laporte Cancelo
............... Rodri Phillips ..............
Palmer ..... Gundogan .... Foden
................... Alvarez ...................
The season starts now fella. The dippers won't be treating this as a friendly against us. We had a fair few out in the FA Cup Semi last season against them that team looked more of a Community Shield team and the dippers celebrated like they had done the Quadruple afterwards.

Personally I'd go with the team that's going to start against West Ham or really close to it.

I’d leave out Ederson and Haaland.

I worry for Grealish in this game. I fear he’ll get the shit kicked out of him by the likes of Fabinho and Henderson.
Grealish gets the shit kicked out of him every game. Protection from the refs is minimal. If he doesn't play against the Dippers he will get kicked about by Wet Sham instead. You can't protect Grealish

He needs a "WHY ALWAYS ME?" t-shirt.

I agree with this, don’t let them get any sort of psychological advance. However I don’t think Pep thinks like this, I reckon he will pick a strongish team but not the strongest and try to win with that. Klopp will go full strength.

I thought it was just something that was going on because Alvarez was playing in the first game, but i noticed the same thing with the Bayern game...KDB is def playing much closer to goal (sometimes even in front of Haaland!). Bernardo played more deeper last season and i think its a conscious effort in order to get KDB closer to the dangerous areas of the pitch. It also makes more sense for why we bought Phillips, we saw it towards the end of that Bayern game and it did actually allow more space for KDB.

For this game i can't see Haaland starting, think they will take him slowly so Alvarez will probably start. I thought Ake looked superb in preseason, can see it starting with him and Dias, the other 2 will need to work their way back in.

There is no "friendly" against Liverpool.
Haha, really? Is it a game of who can show their liverpool dislike more? Ok, here’s one: I know that so much that, look, I only ever write liverpool in lower case ;-)
Here’s another bit of evidence; I dislike liverpool even more than united? Does that demonstrate my credentials?
Seriously mate, it’s a meaningless game, or would you call it a treble if we won it and the league and the cup?
If we get 4 or 6 points against them in the league this year, do you honestly think any of their supporters are going to be spending the season giving it the ‘yeah, but who won the Community Shield?’ if they were to win on Saturday?
Of course I’d rather win than not, of course. Same as any match, but I view this like I would have done if we’d played them in the US last week, all a bit meh, and let’s get players fit but also limit injury risk.
I don’t know what the subs limits are on Saturday but I’d be pleased to see one eleven first half and another eleven second half.

Using a small letter in its own just doesn’t cut it. If you really want to show how much you hate a team you should substitute a rude word into their name eg Ushited or Loserpool or something. If you really want the world to know how badly you hate them to hate to put in asterisks as though their name itself is a swear word, eg U****d.

That makes you a proper blue.

Thank fuck I’m not the only one who makes an effort to type small u and small l for the rags and the robbers

I prefer red cunts but it doesn’t completely differentiate
