Hahaha I love replies like this. Obviously no one on a forum is qualified to question Pep on football tactics. If we play Liverpool using mainly our squad players then 9/10 we will get beat. The same thing happened against Chelsea last season and the remaining premier games where we lost momentum. Our squad players did not step up last season. Can they do it this time around?

The rest of your post is not worth replying to as I think you have maybe missed the point of a football forum. If I continue with your line of thought then every word written by an amateur like yourself is not worth discussing.

Your pleading with Pep to take the game seriously is superfluous. If you think Pep knows what he is doing, your post doesn't make sense. And if you doubt he knows what he is doing, OK, what should I say?

Anyhow, we'll give them a game and try to win, even if some squad players have to play. Let's see what happens.

Steffen
Stones, Dias, Ake, Cancelo
Bernardo, Rodri, Gundogan
Jesus, Sterling, Grealish

Alisson
Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson
Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago
Salah, Jota, Mane

Yeah, I just don't see a scenario where we win.

I guess you didn't see a scenario where we fail to win vs Palace and Southampton at least once.

It's football, many scenarios are realistic. And the most realistic from them are that we perform well and make Liverpool suffer.

Don't fancy us at all.

Not in a "woe is me, why bother?" kind of way, I'm just accepting of it. We're knackered and depleted from missing De Bruyne and Walker, they're well-rested and can field their strongest team. And Pep will definitely see this as our least important game remaining this season.

2-0 Liverpool, or 3-1. Something like that.
Yeah my head says this too. Stranger things have happened but you feel like it may be a bridge too far all things considered

But will they field their best team? Maybe one eye on rags on Tuesday night

Life long City fan. Out of 100 City fans what percentage would prefer a Premier League title over the Champions League? Not clear to me which tournament City fans put as a priority. Personally I'd guess its fairly even, maybe 51%/49% in favour of the UCL?

No chance Dias will be risked as a starter. And if we start with Dinho as the holding player we will get over run. Play him higher up the pitch or in tandem with Rodri. I think we`ll surrender possession more than usual so it`s imperative that the interchangeable front 3 need to keep hold of the ball when they get it.
He`ll pick a mix and match team that could beat most teams. We might take a more negative approach or should I say long ball tactics. But keep it tight for an hour and we`ll win this from the bench with the likes of Foden, Gundog and Mahrez.

Ederson
Cancelo Stones Laporte Zinch
Rodri Bernardo Dinho
Jesus Grealish Sterling

And give Zinchenko the arm band

Amateurish;)

No matter what starting XIs both managers select, this one will go into extra time.
