Liverpool pay City £1 million in "spy" settlement for hacking - biggest PL scandal

Completely agree but I think we should at least try, for example if every City fan on Twitter tagged the authorities I named on this tweet we may get them to pay attention

It's worth a go rather than rolling over and having our bellies tickled.

Made an allegation is intersting use of words,if it was us it would be city found guilty of hacking

Frankly, I don't think it's that interesting of a story. For a few months six years ago a former employee used an old password and proceeded to do fuck all with the information, and then we settled it for what is basically a token sum. It's not great, and obviously its morally wrong, but even as a City supporter I don't really care, and apparently the club didn't either, because they didn't do anything about it at the time.
We felt forced to get through the Navas and Fernandinho deals more quickly paying more than we wanted and at a time we failed FFP because of this!

Plus didn’t Liverpool buy Coutinho - and later sell him for £145m - down to our scouting stats on him?

I’ve seen people say that about Coutinho but as I said earlier in the thread, he was on Inter’s books for four or five years prior to this happening. I’m pretty sure even the most incompetent Premier League scouting operations can unearth that one. We just have no idea really.

I’m not excusing it, what they did was wrong, but considering it happened six years ago, you can’t really point to any actual harm that it caused (not to say there was none, it’s just not obvious) and from the fact that we settled it, all I’m saying is that I can see from the journalists perspective why it isn’t a huge story. There’s been reporting on it, I’ve seen follow ups to the initial article, but I don’t know what else we’re really expecting if neither of the parties involved are talking. The settlement itself suggests to me, again, this is only my opinion, that there probably were some mitigating factors as well...like maybe they only had a low level credential, or didn’t see anything we deemed particularly sensitive. Otherwise I’m sure we would’ve made a bigger deal of it at the time rather than accepting a sum that means absolutely nothing to us.

So guilty as per allegations

Are Liverpool getting the full fee for. Coutinho thought some of it was linked to appearances

Again you just make things up, your sentence, and I quote 'but considering it happened six years ago, you can’t really point to any actual harm that it caused'
When we were hacked Liverpool were nothing, where are they now and how did they get there should be the questions you are asking. Did they hack other data bases, were we forced to pay more for Ferny that we could have done if we bought him 12 months later. Stop slagging down this criminal act as though it was nothing. they did it and benefitted from doing it, why is that so hard to understand.

Would you pay £1m to settle something that means nothing to the other side?

Ask yourselves this. If you were caught hacking, which this is, into a competitor’s computer system would your company pay a settlement and promote you or sack you? I think we all know the answer. The media should be all over this and asking questions. We win the treble and Pep is asked if he has taken back handers. Pep was asked about this situation despite him not even being at City then. Has Klipperty been asked anything? Something very fishy about this whole situation and the lack of coverage.
