Re: Dalglish - what a tool

What the fuck's it got to do with him?

One can only assume he's living in some dementia-induced hyper-reality (for which there's an increasing amount of evidence) where he genuinely believes that his team is playing in the final.

LOL!

To be honest, despite him losing the plot on many things of late I think he makes a valid point here. Unless I'm mistaken, some years ago UEFA started to take this on board for a while and held off naming the ground for the final until the latter stages and then made sure it was a neutral venue. The trouble is, it's not really practical to do that and they've long since reverted back to naming the venues well in advance, hence risking a team being at "home" in the final.

Re: Dalglish - what a tool

The CL final such a huge money making exercise that it can't be organised at the last minute when the finalists are known.
Think next year is already booked for Wembley again.

Senility must be common in Glaswegains by the time you're 60

Which is what I said in my post. However, I'm pretty sure UEFA did name neutral venues for a while. It may have even been at the start of a season when they knew the participants and named a ground belonging to a team that hadn't qualified. However, with the CL expanding to include more and more teams I suppose it became nigh on impossible to come up with a venue that was both neutral and had a big enough capacity.

Re: Dalglish - what a tool

I have to say - I agree with him on this one. Playing in the Allianz itself won't be the difference maker. But I worry more about the treatment the Chelsea players will get in the week leading up to the contest. Travel, while not as long as say Italy, is still a bit unfair. It's a very rare occurence so it's hard really bang the drum.

Re: Dalglish - what a tool

he's ruined his reputation completely by going back to liverpool.

even the scousers are beginning to have enough.

fucking silly old ****.

Re: Dalglish - what a tool

Not entirely sure what's wrong with what he has said really. I think his execution is slightly off, but his sentiment is correct. It is a bit unfair that Chelsea have to play the Champions League final at Bayern's home ground, although i don't think that should prevent Bayern from having the Allianz as a tentative placement for the final. For example, if Klanfield was selected as the venue for the final and the Mickey Mousers made it to the final, then maybe it would be an idea to relocate the final to Wembley (for example).

Or now perhaps it should be relocated to Borussia Dortmund's stadium.

Finals should always be played at a neutral ground.
