Liverpool Thread 2011/12

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

This guy is in for a paddlin, about Rafa;

Are you aware how unbalanced the squad he left behind was. Take your Istanbul glasses off and remember the barmy decision making of his last season. The alienation of key players. He'd done the same at Valencia where the key players hated him. The scattergun turnaround policy of buying loads in the hope that for every Voronin, Dossena, Gonzalez, Josemi, Nunez..... you might find an Alonso. His incredible refusal to accept any blame when things went wrong, poor performance, players fault, bad signings, someone else's fault, success, all down to me.

It's not going to happen. Get over it. FFS we're always accused of forever looking back, look to the future.

They are discussing L'pool on Talk Sport now. Mickey Quinn reckons that the 'soul has been ripped out of L'pool'

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

Someone on TS reckons they should be going for Mourinho as he wants to come back to England. This callers' source is the Sunday Supplement.

I have a feeling this caller will be very disappointed come the start of the season!

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

As a Liverpool fan I'd love to see Benitez back but he had his chance and got close to the title but not close enough.

My choice would be AVB. He actually has a better record in the league than Di Matteo as Chelsea manager and is tactically very good. Even though the Portuguese league is not great he went undefeated and won the Europa League and didn't lose any games if I remember rightly. If the players weren't such twats at Chelsea he would of done alright and I'd be happy to see him at Liverpool.

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

Sadly, (for my brother in law who's a great lad), there's no more money. They are looking for someone who will not rock the boat, has no problem selling key players to make a profit and is used to making do. The problem will be this wasn't in the script when they took over and they will be shown to be way bigger shysters than Gillett and Hicks.
The flip side is that in Martinez and Rogers are way better than Dalglish with these contraints and will get better results. the flip side of this, that unless that better is 4 places and a cup they will be turned on.
