You'll never walk alone sung right on cue when the camera pans the kop for 5 minutes

You'd think think Mat that after all these fookin years the dippers would realise they don't walk alone.. why do they have to keep reminding themselves every fckn week.

'The ghost of David Fairclough is stalking this ground tonight...'

Brendan Rodgers has challenged his Liverpool FC side to “write themselves into folklore” as they prepare for tomorrow night's Champions League showdown with Basel at Anfield.

Folklore by beating Basel to qualify for the next round where they'll be thumped?

i love european nights at anfield-pushing down walls, robbing tickets off their own, urinating on nurses, throwing slabs on waiters heads....oh no wrong european nights.i meant the roar of the kop, mind your car mister, 12th man, famous anfield nights, got the right time lar, king kenny/rushy/aldridge in the stands, istanbul mentioned at least 76 times should they go a goal behind. am gonna make meself a bovril and eat a wagon wheel at half time so i don't feel left out-cone on the redmen !!!

And it's got to be paid back within 5 years, via dividends paid to FSG and you can only pay dividends out of profits. Will the new stand's extra capacity generate £30m a year? If it doesn't that'll cramp their spending on players somewhat and they'll have to keep wages down. Plus anyone decent will be sold if they get a good offer.

Actually, I think I'm confusing things. I think the facility was a 3 year which I believe was paid down and, I think, they redrew as an RCF.

The inter-company loan was indeed paid by FSG, and it looks like it topped up an existing credit to them, with sum value circa 69m.

To be honest, their accounts aren't in that bad shape, once they finish their capex (and provided it contributes towards cashflows) they look healthy enough at a cursory glance

Their 'must-win' game against Basel tonight and, as ever, the most knowledgeable fans in football are completely realistic -

A friend of mine to me "You've got no hope."

I thought "Yes. It is highly unlikely that the five time European Champions could pull of a result against a Swiss team."

Lucas to destroy anything that gets past the halfway line, Sterling to style all over their fullbacks, Stevie to dust off his cape and Kolo to get his Kolo on. Easy. 3-1 win, with the obligatory goal conceded from a set piece.

The atmosphere at Anfield will be unlike anything the Basel players will have witnessed, the loudest, most passionate cauldron of fire. surrounded by the most knowledgeble and supporting of fans in the world. Playing at the most deafening ground in the world.
We are Liverpool
We are coming
Fuck those who stand before us
YNWA

They CAN write THEMSELVES in it. For us it would be a huge sigh, but FOR THEM it will be something they can show to their children. Their kids would be able to stand tall cause their dad plays/played in the CL after overcoming tough odds. Individually there would a record somewhere saying that so and so went past the group-stages..?

Fucks sake these are a Swiss team. It's a fucking pub league.
Pub league they say? Funny that as Gary Neville thinks the dippers are The Dog and Duck!

what are these deluded twats saying now?
