Reading between the lines in the Mirror online it looks as though Rodgers forced Gerrard out, sat him down and told him he was no longer a regular starter, more will come out in the wash before the season end

Link? Bit more respect for Brenda if that's true.

Wouldn't surprise me.

Only one big ego allowed at red Scouse.

I don't post much but came across this and had to share it

Gerrard: “I wish I’d met Brendan when I was 24 because I think I’d be sitting here talking about a lot of titles that we’d won together.”

1987–1990 Ballymena United
1990–1993 Reading 0 (0)
1993–1994 Newport
1994–1995 Witney Town
1995–1996 Newbury Town

^^^With these teams I'm sure Stevie G could have won all sorts - not sure Brenda would've got in to the dippers team in '98 though.

Am I safe to go and watch Sky Sports News now or are they still leading with the overrated one ?

Seriously though now; their wasn't this much fuss when Taggart realised he was fighting a losing battle against City and threw in his towel. Off to the Agenda thread.

Sterling set to sign a £100k a week contract according to The Mail.

Far too much at his age, who is he signing it with?

Liverpool.

They were cornered really because they could never go from nearly winning the league to losing Suarez, Gerrard and Sterling in the space of 12 months.

Re: The Red Lion Pub Team (Liverpool) Thread 2014/15

From a Liverpool perspective getting rid of Stevie will be largely a financial decision. When your highest earner ceases to be your most productive worker things have to change. Liverpool have brought in several new players who must all be earning decent money, Sturridge took their pants down (nothing new there), now 'Young Sterling's' mummy looks set to do the same thing and Jordan Henderson thinks he's the new Bobby Moore and should be paid accordingly. Their wage bill must have reached a level where it's causing them concerns and losing Stevie's 6 million, or whatever, will help on that front, particularly if his performances aren't what they were.
