I wonder who Bodgers is gonna go for in his 'marquee' signing? Who would relish the Thursday/Sunday fixture list? Some galactico who hasn't experienced European football and who would be desperate to try his hand, or foot, at the Europa League? Pogba, Bale, Messi, Ronaldo, Schweinsteiger, Cavani, Carlos Kickaball? The list is endless.

They've been one or two players away every season for the past 25 years. If you put two or three world class players into any squad in the top ten they'd probably crash the top 4. They cost an absolute premium though, and don't go to teams outside the top 4 hence all the wailing every season from that lot. They had their chance in that 7/8 year spell they had of guaranteed top 4 finishes and no FFP on what they could spend but they wasted it all. Apparently yourselves and Chelsea are now 'ruining modern football' by doing exactly the same but better.

Given their history and how they came to be formed, you've more right to be in that group than they have.

yeah but we're the bitter twisted offspring of the city. they are the saintly holier than thou club who would never deny any other team success if it was done in the true spirit of the game. it must really grate on them that we won the league in our anfield home in 1890-funny they exclude that in their 'istree lessons !!!
