We will have a more successful but no where near a better season. That's how prestigious the champions league is, same way Madrid's 15/16 overshadowed barca's double and could also do it again if they beat us. Also the reason why Ronaldo will win the ballon d'or ahead of Messi who's been superior domestically. That's just how the media view it.

Tbf chelsea did win the Fa Cup & CL that season.
oh ffs another idiot arrives

Yep, cup competitions that can be heavily influenced by luck, referring decisions, downright corruption at times, do not over shadow being the best team in your competition over a whole season. Granted the FA give the rags a leg up, but even that didn’t stop the most superior team by a country mile winning

Heard a dipper on the radio say how can you compare the attacks by the Roma fans to half a dozen bottles thrown at a coach......... “half a dozen” ffs

yeah - the bricks and flares were thrown by Evertonians of course....don't you remember? Its never their fault.

It’s obviuosly prestigious to Liverpool they have never competed in the PL since it started! For most other clubs I’d say the PL is a prestigious trophy but I’m sure you’ll prove us all wrong.

Assuming Liverpool get through tonight and I expect them to do so comfortably, the final will be contested by two teams that will likely be a combined 40+ points behind in their respective leagues. This whole "most prestigious trophy" claim is outdated now. A lot of fans realise it and the media will come around to that view too in about 5 years as we all know how archaic they are. It's a cup competition, it takes a different kind of side, different approach and tremendous luck to win it whereas the league takes 9 months of consistent excellence. Your own fans and even ex players in the media without hesitation say they'd rather the league over the champions league, why would that happen if it truly was the most prestigious competition around? Liverpool are a very good cup side, if they win it, it doesn't make them better or mean theyve had a better season than the league winners, they're miles away from even being in the conversation for best team in the country nevermind Europe.

You blinkered hypocritical clown. IF you win the PL next year I will apologise. However, fcuk off and cheer on your delusional scummy pals.

Nonsense,to win the title in your league by a record number of points, hopefully, far and away eclipses you winning the CL,as someone else has said this is the weakest final for many years, nice of you lot to keep popping by though

The reality is, if you were winning the Premier League this season (even if you were grinding it out as opposed to breaking pretty much every record there is) and we were currently on the verge of the CL final then the media would be all over Liverpool being top of the league and wouldn't be that fussed about us. Make no mistake this is all about media arse licking your club which it does at the drop of a hat and is in no way an indication of which is the bigger achievement.

Given the leniency that both Real Madrid & Liverpool seem to get from referees, will they even bother appointing one for the final if Liverpool get through?
Pretty sure it's in the UEFA rule book that whoever has the most previous CL wins gets to own the referee, so Madrid should get him for the final.

I have supported City since 1970 and throughout that time have cheered on English teams in Europe, with the exception of Man U. So I will be hoping Liverpool get through tonight. They have some very good attacking players and a top class manager, second only to Pep. A shame about some of their supporters, but I have no experience of that.

It was painful to be beaten by them in the quarters but already this seems a long time ago and am enjoying our chase for records in Premiership. With a couple of good buys in the Summer and Mendy fully restored we should have a decent chance of winning CL next year.

Ask ten Liverpool fans whether they'd rather win the Premier League or the Champions League in any given season and I'll hazard at least seven, possibly eight, would pick the former. After nearly three decades, it is a running sore amongst your support.

A running sore in amongst a cess pit of vile supporters. Hope they walk alone for a fucking long time to come, the hypocritical excuses for human beings.
