I understand that as a foreigner you might not understand the Manchester Liverpool links and rivalries but I don't think you have to.

Truth is that personally, Liverpool the city, I like. Lots of friends and family from there, been there loads and had some great even special times there. There are actually loads of safe Scousers, they have their dickheads but there are some absolute weapons living here in Manchester too.

Liverpool Football Club however are a totally different thing. They are arrogant twats that think they're much more special than they are. They were fine with little old City and liked us right up until we got our money then they suddenly were snobbish, dismissive and outright offensive about our team. The irony is that their period of dominance, the fumes of which they are still running on also came after a big investment by their owners, but those hypocrites ignore that.

I hate their attitude to us. I hate the way they think they are more of a real club than we are. I hate the way they attacked our coach and claimed it was real support and not criminality. I hate the way they demonised Sterling for daring to go to another club and actually win something. I hate their sycophants in the media. I hate the cringe inducing poems and romanticism on RAWK and other forums. I hate their mythology. I hate their plastic none Scouse fans that have never been to a game but still spout off about the heritage of their club compared to ours.

I'm so glad they lost the final because of this and also I'll admit that I'm selfishly glad because I didn't want anything to take the attention away from our amazing, record breaking season.

Personally, I don't see why anyone would need to be from the UK to see how that club acts towards our club and it's because of that I hate Liverpool FC; not the City of Liverpool. If you can't understand that then that's fine, but without being some sort of gatekeeper of football fandom, I don't know if you're getting the full experience of supporting an English club.
Excellent post & pretty much sums up how I feel .

Superb post.

Not sure where this animosity is coming from honesty.

Probably you hate Liverpool - for reasons, as a person born and living in the states - I won't ever appreciate.

That aside - Klopp is a wonderful manager.

Liverpool's current owners won't spend anything like we will - they have a limited budget. The team Klopp took over was a mess.

Has he won the PL title in his tenure? Nope.

Will he before he leaves - probably not.

That said, he's a very solid manager, has improved his side tremendously, and honestly, given his budget, is doing far better than some run-of-the-mill manager (Rodgers, Dalgleish, etc.).
You would understand if you went to Anfield as a 16 year old in 1971 and a group of Scousers wanted to rob you of your brand new Harrington jacket or if you witnessed a huge gang Scousers kick the shit out of a small group of City fans walking to the train station .
Or if you had your car windows smashed while at the trafic lights or returning to your coach to find all the windows put through i could go on about Stanley knives and Heysel and booing and abusing our goalie when he was stretcherd of the pitch while being given oxygen or atacking and wrecking out team coach but if you dont get it mate i doubt whatever i say will help you understand

And me. I really do like Liverpool as a City, have relatives over there, who are very welcoming, and not footy fans. However I worked with Scouse Reds for many a year, many genuine who went to games, several of them plastic. Arrogance and snobbery towards us really has developed in the last decade.

Incidentally was one of the few City fans actually at the 1981 Boxing Day 3-1 win at Anfield. For my sins at the time, my boyf was a Scouse supporting red. I did make the mistake of standing, with my City scarf on, with their supporters behind the goal and I can say now that their reputation as being ignorant f&&kers is totally justified. I was late teens and I kid you not that the filthy vermin wanted to set about me when we scored. I have also had the misfortune on another occasion a few years previously of being at Graeme Souness debut (14 Jan 78) and was in the KOP with BF. It was horrendous and the nearest I have come to being smothered alive especially when they scored towards the end. They were not happy cos I remember them being beaten and have just checked it was Birmingham City who were the 3-2 victors.

Anyway I am not holding my breath for a EUFA reprimand. I loathe them.

PS I didn't make the mistake of marrying the Scouser - although it was a close run thing and he was surprisingly articulate and intelligent......!

An excellent post Leto.

The twats who glorify LFC are imo much more arrogant, shallow and hypocritical than their counterparts who lamely follow the rags.

The recent attack on the City coach demonstrates a disgusting and feral trait and belief that they are entitled to carry out such acts, accepted by LFC and Merseyside Police , takes their behaviour to a whole new level of arrogance and contempt for any accepted level of sportsmanship .

The fact that they were beaten by RM only part way made up for that stain on football this club and its " supporters " have brought about on several occasions over the years , including the deaths of innocent supporters , without receiving the appropriate level of condemnation due from our sycophantic and hypocritical media.
