Problem with Liverpool is that they think their "history" makes them a big club.
Tell that to Aston Villa, Preston North End, The Corinthians, etc., etc. They need to stop living in the past, take a reality check, and build from ground upwards. Before it gets worse, which it easily could.

Actually I'd like Klopp to stay for as long as possible as they'll win nothing with him at the helm.
On the other hand him staying improves United 's chance of top 4...

Good point. Klopp is the right manager for Liverpool. He is a second tier manager for a second tier club. Anything between 4th and 10th is par for him and Liverpool. And that is exactly what he and Liverpool will do.
