15 points - despite the fawning over the football they play in the media they are 15 points behind us - same with Spuds but its 17 for them. And we have tomorrow's game in hand. They still have loads of improvements to make if they are to challenge - or we fall off a performance cliff - can't see Pep allowing that
I read a click-bait thing 442 on-line, earlier in the week. It listed the top 20 performances, based on points gained, by teams in the PL era.
Whilst it should be pointed out that Liverpool's record in 2014 was better than that of many sides that actually did win it in other years, it is also worth emphasising that - for all the hype at the time and misty-eyed nostalgia now - it was 20th on the list. That is to say, that if City continue on course, this year, that wonderful, marvelous, super-unlucky team that dared to dream, won't even be in the top 20 all-time Premier League performances, come this May.

I think Liverpool have a good chance of winning the CL this year. The rest of Europe seems to think of dominant Liverpool of the 80's, in that regard I think there is an element of teams being beaten to a degree before they even play Liverpool. I would love us to stuff them in the semi's or final, someone has to stoop them and it's eitherr us, RM,Barca, all the others will fold.

I used to think the Champions League was a true reflection of the best team in the world. Then 2005 happened.

I think that goes with all tournament formats. It’s not like a league campaign whereby the winners are an absolute true reflection of the best team in the league. With tournaments you can “cheese” your way through it so to speak with lucky draws and one off big performances.

Having said that I don’t think we have any chance of winning it. Look at Spurs the other night. Most would say Spurs are a more well rounded team than us yet they lost to Juventus who people were saying are “past it”.

I think lots of people are underestimating the value of experience in this competition. Us and Spurs have zilch.
Still... you never know.

As in boxing, you have a punchers chance. I personally think against the better sides, your defence will let you down.

Can we fuck this **** off please? He's far too rational for a Liverpool fan and i'm getting confused reading his posts and waiting for the 'most knowledgeable fans' to start talking bollocks but it just hasn't happened. Yet.

I'll never be able to want the rags to win, but I took an alternate view today and enjoyed watching Liverpool losing.

Liverpool are their own worst enemies - knock an average Porto side out of the CL and instead of focusing on today’s game Klopp decided to indulge in a bit of boasting which was premature and a bit uncalled for. Did the same after he beat us and promptly lost to Swansea.

I'd sack that clown Klopp.
Not won anything in 3 seasons and signs bang average players like Oxlade Chamberlain and Lallana.
Never turn up when it matters apart from us at Anfield.
Shocking performance from them today to go along with their delusional fan base.

A bit reactionary, he's got them playing good football, will likely finish in the top four for a second consecutive season (they hadn't done that for a while) and are in the QF's of the champions league.
Winning the odd domestic cup isn't as important as it used to be anymore

So why the vast difference when they played us and when they played today?
Half of them looked like frightened rabbits.
