As others have said, "big clubs" aim for silverware, any and all silverware, plain and simple; what else is there to aim for? What is a Football Club created for? What else is there to dream of as a supporter?
Liverpool's owners, whilst sitting behind this mask of "the worlds greatest club", are solely in this for money, and sadly, at the expense of the fans.
Do Liverpool fans pay their money to go to games, just to see how to balance a bank account? Nip down the TSB and they'll stick a video on for you. Far cheaper option.
They have put all their eggs into one/two baskets (we shall see next week in Munich), as they offer the biggest payouts/biggest exposure, and therefore more money coming in.
And their fans pay the price...quite literally.
Pochettino ran his mouth about trophies polishing egos (or sommat like that), to toe the Levy line about finishing Top 4, so to get Chumps League and more money/exposure to line Levy's pockets.
Can anyone see a pattern forming for certain clubs?
This is akin to what Liverpool are doing to indoctrinate their own fans. And sadly, I suspect few will disagree.
