Liverpool thread 2018/19

They have had a lot of favourable decisions ones we would never get but one thing is that Klopp is a fantastic manager.

Thought I'd log on to another team's forum and pop into my team's thread and get amongst it.

It's safe to say, I sincerely hope the red half of Manchester twat you tomorrow night, but realistically I know that isn't going to happen and you'll probably run out winners - much to my dismay.

Never the less, it's been a very good ding-dong this season for the League title and whomever wins it will thoroughly deserve it; whoever ends up runners-up deserves praise for making this title bout what it is - nerve racking for those with skin in this game!

Win or runner-up, I'm over the moon with how the Reds have closed that 18 pt gap from last season, massive improvement from us on that front, hopefully a sign of things to come as we're moving currently in the right direction.

As for City, well in fairness I don't watch any other team unless Liverpool play them, so cannot really give an overall view from my perspective about them, but their record and stats speak for themselves, compounded by the media declaring them 'the best team ever' etc. and salivating over the prospect of them doing a quadruple for a fair part of the campaign. They clearly are a world class side and its a good sign for any team measuring themselves against the current top-dog.
Given as we are the only team to get 100pts and smash every record going i would say we are the best team ever in the prem

He's a very good Keeganesque type Manager. Whips good players into an attacking 100 mph frenzy and will unfortunately be very successful in terms of trophies this year. The one thing we can count on is that it is unsustainable and I expect a huge drop off from them next season. Not that it will matter to their insufferable and selective, feral following.

I truly love rawk, they are so knowledgeable about football, and I quote;

He is. They will be replacing Fernandinho with Rodri from Atletico.

Never heard of him but he will do well to come in and influence the side the way Fernandinho does, especially if he is welsh. Its crazy the influence Fernandinho has.

I dont believe at all that they will get as many points next season and they may drop a bit. If they dont, then Guardiola definitely has them on drugs.

Purely talking from a footballing perspective but I really find Man City's style of play boring. That's probably a mad sentence and their team is obviously full to the brim of world-class players but there's just something in their clinical, minutely-detailed play that is utterly uncompelling to watch. Passing drill after passing drill, chip over the top to Sterling who cuts it back for Aguero or adventurous-midfielder-of-the-moment to tap in. A few pats on the back and golf clapping from the fans and we go again. It just goes against some of the finer, more exciting aspects of football - the brute strength, the passion, the beautifully struck half-volley from the corner, the absolute thunderbolt from 30 yards, the devastating counter on the break that results in a goal and a shirt-twirling, screaming, chest-pumping celebration.

City are completely devoid of any of that and if English football becomes a procession of them walking to the title every year with another team every so often challenging but failing due to their more flawed, more human, more reactionary approach meaning they only win 30 matches a season rather than 31, then I think football is going to lose a lot of fans. That this team has been assembled in the most risk-free, rule-breaking, pisstaking manner imaginable just adds to the ridiculousness of it all.

I just fucking hate them basically, don't even care if this post screams 'sour grapes'. Even from a purely sporting perspective they are horrible for football and god knows Spain managed to make the international scene boring as shit between 2008-2012 with their suffocating, robotic style of play so I really think we would do football a favour if we beat them to the title this year. Everything with them just seems so contrived and artificial ff AND on the pitch and we will all lose something if that becomes the norm.
