Liverpool thread 2018/19

Jesus wept! You just know they'd be wanking off over Pep even more than us if he was their manager.

I just don't get posts like that - don't get me wrong, I fully get all the bitter bollocks about FFP and all that shite as it's so predictable, but calling our football boring is a fucking piss-take. Sure, it can be quite methodical at times but we're the most entertaining team in the country - right down to Ederson playing in midfield like he did that night against Wolves - and anyone arguing otherwise is a deluded fuckwit.

Purely talking from a footballing perspective but I really find Man City's style of play boring. That's probably a mad sentence and their team is obviously full to the brim of world-class players but there's just something in their clinical, minutely-detailed play that is utterly uncompelling to watch. Passing drill after passing drill, chip over the top to Sterling who cuts it back for Aguero or adventurous-midfielder-of-the-moment to tap in. A few pats on the back and golf clapping from the fans and we go again. It just goes against some of the finer, more exciting aspects of football - the brute strength, the passion, the beautifully struck half-volley from the corner, the absolute thunderbolt from 30 yards, the devastating counter on the break that results in a goal and a shirt-twirling, screaming, chest-pumping celebration.

City are completely devoid of any of that and if English football becomes a procession of them walking to the title every year with another team every so often challenging but failing due to their more flawed, more human, more reactionary approach meaning they only win 30 matches a season rather than 31, then I think football is going to lose a lot of fans. That this team has been assembled in the most risk-free, rule-breaking, pisstaking manner imaginable just adds to the ridiculousness of it all.

I just fucking hate them basically, don't even care if this post screams 'sour grapes'. Even from a purely sporting perspective they are horrible for football and god knows Spain managed to make the international scene boring as shit between 2008-2012 with their suffocating, robotic style of play so I really think we would do football a favour if we beat them to the title this year. Everything with them just seems so contrived and artificial ff AND on the pitch and we will all lose something if that becomes the norm.

what the numbnuts who posted that fails to comprehend is that all he states he loves about the game is what we have done, and continue to do on the field. With the shirt twirling screaming point he made, we hold the best ever finish to a premier league ever when Kun netted the winner in 2012

what a grade A bellwhiff

Anyway, I am putting money on Wolves beating the dippers at anfield on the last day of the season.

"Oi; Stan. That delivery of salt has arrived. Looks like the gaffer ordered an extra large delivery this time around."

Funny as when I saw mention of shirt twirling that’s the exact thing that popped into my head. No doubt if Liverpool won the league though, this whopper will claim they’re better at shirt twirling than Aguerooooooooooo was that afternoon in 2012!
