Why I support Liverpool by London MP Sadiq Khan
MP says the prejudice he faced at other matches inadvertently led him to support Liverpool

Hasn't Mr Khan heard about how Liverpool fans go on in Europe, or in the UK for that matter.... Bricking opposition busses, fireworks outside hotels.... Hating everyone & everything that isn't scouse.... Even hating their fellow players so much they have police guards to protect them from threats by their own fans.

He was talking about this this morning, albeit briefly, on the radio.

Liverpool fans, once again bastions of all that is holy, pure, nice & good.

You dont know the law , doesnt matter if your vehicle is stationary , if your on a public highway and in control of the vehicle and using a mobile phone its six points , Merseyside Police are c*nts.
Vicious JGB, but I accede to your knowledge. Your / you're makes me feel slightly better. :-)
On a side note I am fairly sure that even if you are parked you can still be done for drunk driving (obviously if you are over the limit). Am I right to assume this won't apply re phone use.

What a tosser he is. If he had visited Anfield in the 80s he would have known it was one of the most racist crowds in the country (as was Everton). This was not the case at Maine Road or Old Trafford. I know because I worked in Liverpool through most of the 80s and at that time Anfield was a no-go zone for anyone from Toxteth.
Things have changed a lot since then but it is still Liverpool fans who lead the way with the racist online comments about our owners and one of their fans said to me last season in a pub before we played at Anfield: "You'se would be nothing without your dirty Arab money." Khan is a disgrace. Just another political opportunist on the make. If he really thinks Liverpool fans are a bastion of tolerance then he is as stupid as he is dishonest.

I'm really not sure if using a phone while parked at the roadside is an offense.

I understand that having the keys in the ignition while over the limit is an offense as you're theoretically in charge of a vehicle. I also seem to recall a case where someone was prosecuted for being in control of a vehicle while intoxicated just for holding car keys when in a car...

I know that police have started patrolling as passengers in service busses and recording then sending prosecution notices to drivers they see using mobile phones while sitting in traffic / at lights etc even when they aren't moving.

But as far as I'm aware, if you are stationary at the side of the road / parked, using a mobile isn't an offense - but I may be wrong.

Drink drive is a very different situation , but if you turn off the highway you can make a call on your mobile , although you should be OK on merseyside making a call on a mobile at anytime (the reception in the mersey tunnel is pretty shit though) just don a Salah wig and false beard and you will be fine.
