An ageing Madrid team made them look ordinary in the final. The longer it went on that game and Madrid survived the 30 minute onslaught Liverpool ran out of ideas. I don’t know if Guardiola has it in him to be pragmatic as he sets out to win every game straight from the off.
The more teams that survive the first half this season the more chances of points dropped for the dippers. Champions league draw will test them too, if they get one of the big boys it means Klopp has to keep flogging the first 11 every Wednesday and weekend. There isn’t much to rotate with on that bench.
It is quite funny that Fenway sport are hawking the club round for investment, even trying to bring dirty Arab oil money in as the Liverpool fans call it. I thought all Liverpool’s wealth was righteous and earned because of their great European pedigree even though they haven’t won the league going on for nearly 3 decades. (Or are we counting April 2014)?
