I'm not sure it's that much of an upgrade. Everyone remembers Karius's fuck ups in the CL Final, but he was pretty solid during the league season. In fact. I'm struggling to recall any errors at all that cost Liverpool. And if you judged goalies by one game, you would kick out Ederson on the basis of the Anfield League game last year and the Arsenal away game this season. And despite the wank-fest over Allisson, he looked quite ordinary in the CL matches I saw him in last year.
Alisson is a better keeper, but I think the main reason is that Karius was so obviously effected by the CL final, during pre season. He was completely off his game and I don't think he ever could have gone on playing for Liverpool.

Not to mention the death threats from his own fans......How much of that will be down to the players letting him 'walk alone' after the game?
If anything, in Karius's shoes, I'd be the one telling Liverpool FC to fuck off if that's how you treat 'one of your own' who has a bad game.
Never happend - fake news! Not to mention the death threats from his own fans......
Yes, you are correct. I recall being at the game December 81 when with a minute to go (and City winning) Joe Corrigan threw a bottle at himself, blaming it on The Kop.... such a ludicrous allegationNever happend - fake news!
How can you associate such behaviour with a club with such a rich and glorious history?
Well it couldn't have been the knowledgeable Anfield crowd - they have a great sense of humour.......Yes, you are correct. I recall being at the game December 81 when with a minute to go (and City winning) Joe Corrigan threw a bottle at himself, blaming it on The Kop.... such a ludicrous allegation
