Bruce Grobbelaar was on a BBC podcast last week and the subject of Heysel came up. He said he was sickened by the fans actions and no longer wanted to play for a club with that kind of supporter, until Liverpool officials explained the trouble was caused by three groups of fans from London clubs who had infiltrated the crowd.
Oh Brucey baby.playing the victim e.h.?
Sickened by fans action were you.?...maybe you should consider there were a fair few, true football fans sickened by your actions in letting in goals..for cash..for the benefit of far east betting syndicates...... the nasty fighting fans who worked all week to afford to watch cheats like you lining your own pockets and abusing your position as goalkeeper for Liverpool fc....your a disgrace...and here again we have the impartial and so correct bbc giving you a platform to spout your nonsense....how much did they pay you brucey??
.i,m so glad that foofball has been cleared of corruption now tho....oh wait.

Tbh Walker annoys the hell out of me, at times. He's quite happy to just stop and refuse any responsibilty. He seems to think that if he just ignores
something, then it's not his problem.
Agree he is a fine athlete but an average footballer with at least one brain fart in most games for City and got away with a couple in the World Cup too.
Bought for way over the odds to get back and break up attacks against run of the mill sides but his lack of football awareness catches him out sometimes against better teams.
Be very surprised if we can win in Europe with him in the team but his effort and engine will ensure a lot of league points.

I'm not saying he's that bad. He just needs to get control of his, away with the fairies, moments.

Was that the world service podcast?

I only ask because I listened to that and he never mentions that last bit at all.
He says he went to the caymans after his zimbabwean passport was rejected and got a south african one, called the club and said he didn't want to play football again and not for a team involved with fans deaths.
However he was asked to coach a game though versus St Kitts while on holiday and it reignited his passion for the game so went back.

It may be another interview you heard tbf on bbc, as the world service one was a short one.

He’s integral for the way we make up ground in the final 3rd.... prone to a brain fart but for applied pressure there is nobody better at shifting our lines to take control!

The dips at work have spent the last couple of days telling me that losing to Chelsea and Napoli is fine and doesn’t really mean anything. Today it’s been all about it being ok if we beat them as well as it’s early doors and it’s good to get a few defeats ‘out of the way’ before marching on to the title.

Pickled.
