Champions league was a fluke the amount of favourable decisions the Dippers recieved against ourselves and Roma is astonishing , and exactly why we still boo their anthem , UEFA favour the old G14 clubs and always will , and it is true the Dippers & Chelsea are going places , 2nd , 3rd or 4th place in the Premier league and Chelsea might win a cup.

I don't think they'll win the league because they aren't the best team. We are. But it doesn't mean that they aren't moving in the right direction. They've certainly improved on what they were 2 years ago.

To be fair there was a hell a lot of room for improvement ,and for £300m they should be a lot closer than they are , the Dippers are nowhere near our level no matter how much the media blow smoke up the Dippers backsides , lets see how far behind us they are a xmas , my guess is a minimum ten points , which will equate to no improvement at all . Chelsea are the main threat Sarri is wise old owl and has already got them playing well , if they chuck the europa league they will push us all the way

I think we'll need to wait until the end of the season to gauge the extent if the improvement. If by the end of the season, they're anywhere near as far as they were from us last season, then they'll deserve criticism. If they end up within 10 points or so, then they'll take some positives.

I agree about Sarri getting Chelsea playing well already but I don't see them maintaining the challenge. It's not easy to transform a team immediately and Chelsea's team isn't as good as they used to be. Sarri did an interview before the league match against Liverpool and said that he didn't know if his team was ready to win the title. He might have been lowring expectations or simply stating that he feels they lack the firepower to stick with City over the long run.

It all remains to be seen.

VVD, Keita, Mane, Salah, Milner injured.
But they've only got Huddersfield and then Cardiff (could get some more casualties).
Why couldn't they have picked up these injuries before Spurs, Chelsea and us?
Lucky as usual!

Yeah, that was hyperbole. Having said that, it's crazy to think that he's already gotten them to a Champions League final. You can't win it if you don't get tbetr, and losing to Madrid in a match in wwhich they held their own with the European champions until Salah went off injured is nothing to be ashamed of. I think they're moving in the right direction, as are Chelsea.

I can't understand why when mentioning Liverpool games the dipper lovers always put in the proviso "we were doing alright until" Everyman and his dog swears that Liverpool were 4 up before Mane got sent off, now this poster reckons Madrid won the Champs League because Salah went off.

Except that it isn't what I said and I'm sure you know that. There's a huge difference between saying that a team was holding their own before a sending off and saying that their opposition only won because the player in question was sent off.

I don't think your reading comprehension is that poor so I'll assume that you're being deliberately obtuse.

Yeah, it's bollocks. Salah got injured at the exact point in the match that Liverpool almost always ran out of steam anyway. It's not luck that the longer the game went on, the more their opponents dominated, because every single game against top opposition had exactly the same pattern.

I had always wondered how Andy Dufresne had got on and here he is, on Bluemoon.

How is Red?

I think Mane can play with a broken thumb,i'm not having dick is playing with 2 broken ribs, that is really stupid even if he could

I read in one report he only has bruised as opposed to broken ribs, and was sent home as a precaution, so wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play some part. Not sure about playing with a broken thumb if you are diving about on the ground, could be detrimental to the injury. There should be enough cover to beat Huddersfield. They can't afford to get any more injuries - think Cardiff ahead, and not rotate the team, in the lesser games.

His national manager said he has been playing with 2 broken ribs for a while which can't be right, maybe lost in translation,if mane does play it might cure him of throwing himself to the ground every 2 mins lol.they have no real depth for sure so we'll see how they cope, games like huddersfield are where they dropped points last year
