Getting the ball is irrelevant. Intent is irrelevant in this case.
Launching yourself headlong and making contact studs up in that fashion on a planted leg endangers the opponent.
Could have easily broken his ankle/lower leg.
It's a red all day long.
Two commentators were a disgrace and the Scousers booed him all night as well as some scouse wanker giving it the diving sign when he went over to retrieve the ball. Honestly? What have you seen so far that would lead to that assessment? Liverpool are the biggest challenge this season. They are solid defensively and aren't getting injuries. They have luck too.
