Christmas number one
Wolves v Liverpool (20:00 GMT)

"All I want for Christmas is... to be top of the table".

Liverpool became league leaders when Manchester City slipped up against Chelsea and the Reds overcame bitter rivals Manchester United last week to retain their place at the helm.

Win today, and Liverpool will sit top of the table on Christmas day.

In 14 of the 26 previous Premier League seasons, the team in that position on December 25 has gone on to win the title.

It's been the case in eight of the last nine campaigns - the exception being Liverpool in 2013-14.

Don’t tell me this is the work of McNulty - Chief Football Correspondent and Top Dipper - he’s been wanking over Liverpool all season.

If they are top and unbeaten after 17 games, while playing average, we should be taking them VERY seriously.

And if they are relying so much on good luck, who’s to say they won’t stay lucky?

Some blinkered views being expressed.
Where did I say we shouldn't take them seriously?

If you're going to bother to respond to me, at least take the time to comprehend what was written because you failed miserably there.

If you don't think they've been lucky at least in some of their games to remain "unbeaten" or even to have quite as many points as they have(Seriously how can't you get that? It's simple), then good for you pal, think what you like and I'll happily just disagree with you. How about less of the snidey comments for those that don't agree with your bleak outlook though? "Blinkered", give over.

Do they mean 13/14 wasn't their year?
