Liverpool were outplayed in the first half, despite the lead but it's hard to make a case the Liverpool didn't deserve the win, with how bad Wolves were in the final 3rd.

They didn't look like scoring and even when they did create good chances, they managed to aim right at Alisson.

Liverpool lost control of the game 30 minutes in. Before that they had 70% possession and killed almost all link up play with the initial press. The rest of first half was back and forth. Could have been 0-3 to Liverpool or 2-1 to wolves. But over all, 0-1 was probably a fair result.

Much more sensible outlook, than some of the flappery going on. I do think we have made much easier work of our games in general(try not to look at it from a City standpoint, we have games sewn up by half time more often than not from a neutral perspective it must be seen that we are making lighter work of it) so I disagree about us looking uncertain in comparison to them. We are defending the title in every sense of the word.

City still has an edge. More chances and more control. Over a season Liverpool will need a bit of luck.

Pretty generous to give them the first 30, I don't think Wolves typically have the most possession in games they have taken points off the top teams, it's what they do with what they have. I thought it was telling before the 20th minute mark personally, which is why I gave them the first half overall.

They are getting all the breaks this season, the late Everton win stands out. The only thing that will stop us winning the league is all the other games we have to play: a League Cup Final is very likely, as well as a run deep into the FA Cup & CL. Can we keep it up in all 4 competitions?

We're only half way through the season so there;s still a long way to go, but they are a very good side
A looong way to go folks..20 games..they are more vulnerable than us..loose one of Salah or VVD they’re screwed..we’ve had our bad luck with injuries etc to KDB and still right at it at last years pace..plus our top end rivals have all been played away..let’s see how they handle the rough patch when it hits them which is inevitable in a 38 game season..sit tight..it will be sweeter for us in the end

Looking good for them. I was banking on Wolves and Arsenal to take points off them, so that leaves Arsenal left. I can’t see Liverpool not beating them. Would like to see some of the teams at the bottom give them a bit of a scare, doesn’t look likely to happen mind.

We CANNOT afford to squander our opportunities when we play them.
We need to be more clinical consistently, possession etc counts for fcuk all if we can’t put the ball in the net and win the game. Goals win games.

Just what we need. Genuine competition forces you to up your game. We need this. I imagine Pep will relish it.

Last season was incredible for us in every way the way we won it and dominated so convincingly. This season offers something very different and we should embrace a good title challenge. If we are good enough which I feel we are then we will win it and it will be just as fantastic.
