Stayed off social media all day at the thought of the spunkfest. An hour into it, and i've had my fill of their outpourings. A great result sure, but what a load of gobshites they have confirmed themselves to be. Got to go for Ajax taking down Spurs and then these shite hawks.

Had a quick look at RAWK to see if last night's performance boosted their confidence going into the final game on Sunday.

Well, they're expecting to do the double.

Err.... Just a bit!!

I'm a bit of a stickler meeseeks a greedy bastard, I want us to win BOTH

and,

Fuck it, I need to say this:

WE ARE GOING TO WIN THE LEAGUE TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and, in relation to it being cruel if City lose out,

Cruel?

It would be fucking hilarious and totally deserving of that gobshite of a football club.

and,

When I stopped by to congratulate them after the game My teenage neighbor told me - "The double is still on."

Too right it is lad, too right it is.

and last but not least.

The double’s on!!

I cherry picked those from only 2 pages!
Honestly though, what’s wrong with any of them comments, other than the petty one about a “gobshite” club? People are talking like we have it in the bag but we could easily draw 0-0 at Brighton the way we’ve been playing of late. I’m praying for an early goal to calm the nerves, but we can’t be overly confident of that happening.

Them beating Barca after being 3-0 down was miles more unlikely than the chances of them winning the league this Sunday. But it still happened. Of course they’re going to believe. We would too after such a comeback.

If we win the league on Sunday, there are plenty of Dippers who think the trophy should be shared due to their points haul.

If they win the league on Sunday, still Share-sies due to our points haul? No. Didn't think so.

Or two, preferably.

Celtic managed to get their only rivals thrown down the divisions on the grounds of financial irregularities to give them free access to league titles.
This is what the Dippers would love to see happen to us.
and they've fallen short in Europe partly due to them not having any meaningful opponents in the meantime.

Watching Messi stand in the centre circle and do nothing while Liverpool won the ball back and attacked Barcelona's shell shocked defence time after time will stay with me for a long time.

Messi might be the World's greatest footballer ever, but when his team mates needed him last night to help out and to defend, he went missing and let them down.

As for Liverpool's 4th goal. That was Sunday park football defending by Barcelona. It summed up their performance.

Him and Suarez did the same, just stood about and watched in the 20 minutes I saw.

Cannot believe that barca performance last night.them and Real Madrid have steadily been on a downward spiral last few years.I did think the dippers would get something from the first leg but 3-0 flattered Barca.god sake let Ajax beat them cos I can't see spurs beating the scum

Messi is 32 and has played 868 professional games. Even if the team wanted him to be running around (they don't) he doesn't have the legs to do it anymore.

He's got 48 goals and 22 assists this season, that's over half their goals, and the other half he mostly creates. He literally carries them in 50% of the game, all the other 10 players have to do is defend competently and he will win them the games.

The idea he let them down is complete and utter horseshit, and the idea he let them down because he didn't run enough, is the kind of thing you'd expect Dyche or Pulis to come up with, it belongs in 1970's lower league football. The reality is, after he dragged them kicking and screaming into a 3 goal lead last week, his teammates let him down.

Wouldn't it be great if both sets of fanbases stopped slagging each other off and just enjoyed the fact that English football has now got two of the greatest teams it has had for decades. I think Liverpool's fantastic performance last night will just make our achievement (should we win the Title) even more impressive. I have said all season that to finish ahead of this Liverpool team will be our toughest ever task. Harder than last season. If we end up with all English Champs League and Europa League finals it wll shut up the idiots who have claimed that City are destroying English football. Pep has revolutionised English football and it is more competitive than ever. Long may it last.

Standing ovation for this post.

The amount of bitterness in some of the posts on this and the Spurs thread is a joke. This season City have been unbelievable in their quality and their consistency, but so have Liverpool. There is a fag paper between the two teams, and whoever comes out on top at the weekend will deserve it only slightly more than the other. The best result for all would be for City to win the league and Liverpool to win the CL because it would be unlucky in the extreme for them to not finish this season with a trophy of some sort.

To add to this Spurs who have at times matched the quality of the City and Liverpool but just don't have the depth of squad (particularly given the frailness of Kane) to deliver it on a more consistent basis.

A great season, two genuinely and equally great teams and if you can't see that then i feel sorry for you because you are missing out on how great football can be.

Exactly. Everyone wants to get caught up in the feud between the fanbases but the reality is that City and Liverpool are miles ahead of the rest of England. They're a fantastic side and they showed last night that they are never out of a tie. I get being annoyed with seeing a lot of coverage for their result, but they just beat Barcelona 4-0 without Salah and Firmino. Credit where it is due and all that.

They're going to win the CL (although I'm hoping for Ajax), but as long as we win the league then I really cba.
