I keep hearing the plaintiff cry that in any other season getting 97 points would win them the league. Not true.
In every single season, finishing top of the table has won the league. That's the bit they're refusing to concede.I keep hearing the plaintiff cry that in any other season getting 97 points would win them the league. Not true.
An astute post as always my learned friend. Roll on SundayI keep hearing the plaintiff cry that in any other season getting 97 points would win them the league. Not true.
So you were an early leaver?Definitely the latter, I think at this stage they're resigned to finishing second so the former wouldn't cause them too much additional pain. Having the chance after looking like they'd blown it, to win it on the final day and blowing it again would probably feel akin to how we felt between the 48th and 94th minutes on 13/05/2012, but without the happy ending :)
Bows head in appreciative wayThe irony is that despite amassing their highest ever points total, potentially losing just one game, getting through to a CL semi final, having 'that' front three and the greatest centre half ever to play football anywhere, anytime, in the history of football, despite scoring lots of goals, despite 99% of the media indulging in a season long Liverpool wankfest, despite their 'history', their chirpy unique Scouse humour and having the most knowledgeable fans in the world with an incredible gift of being able to 'suck the ball into the net' on those special nights under the lights at Anfield and despite Jurgen Klopp's impressive set of railings and, despite what Matthew Syed might think, they haven't actually "won hearts and minds" have they ..... because practically every fan of every other club you meet hates the cheating, arrogant twats even more than they did previously.
Nope. Wasn't in attendance unfortunately, but I left Wembley early in 99 and have never done it since. So you were an early leaver?
For shame, on multiple counts!
Wondering exactly what our dippery friend is getting at there. Football was so much better before goals?Went on to RAWK for the first time in years.
It's a strange place. Where conspiracy theories are the norm and any sensible post is shouted down.
Loved this post after Kompany scored...
