Professional Scouser Tony Barret this week called Barcelona the most arrogant, hypocritical club in the world and sneered at their 'More Than A Club' motto. He wasn't far out, but he forgot a club much nearer home that also fits the description.

They're fucking idiots. That motto comes from when Franco was in charge of Spain, when their stadium was one of the only places you could openly speak Catalan. The club was an important part of Catalan identity at a time of massive repression (I believe. If anyone with more knowledge of this than me tells me I'm talking out my arse, I'm not an expert). 'This means more' is just a catch phrase conjured up to appeal to their fans delusions of being something special.

Pep would probably sell most of our starting XI to get his hands on Messi even at this age. He has made no secret of the fact he thinks he's the greatest footballer of all time, and he let him break all sorts of rules at Barca to keep him happy and at his best. If Messi needed to walk a lot to keep scoring 60 goals a season, Pep would tell him to go ahead.

It's true that Barcelona have fallen back into "Messidependencia" as I think the Spanish call it, but that's not his fault, it's the board above him spending 260m on Dembele and Coutinho, or still persisting with Suarez even though he's been past it for 2 years.

He is the best footballer in the world. I'm not disputing that. When you build your entire team round him and expect him to produce goals every game, when he doesn't you are fucked. Thats what happened yesterday. He let them down because they expect him to win every bloody game for them. Messi at least has an excuse for not running, unlike the other 9 outfield players.

Big difference between Pep and Klopp, Pep is a tactical leader where he leaves no stone unturned whereas Klopp is a Jose type who creates an us against the world scenario.
Last night he played what he had available not who he would have picked by choice and wound them up to create the perfect storm.
Barcelona were poor but Liverpool kept at them. Once the full back was injured you knew he had only one option but to take milner out of of midfield as he had no alternative, if that hadn't happened G.W. would have been stuck on the bench so that stroke of luck changed the match.
This can be dressed up all it wants by the media but no better than a great night if you are a dipper, not the greatest ever by any means that's for sure.
Once the "my boys" wears off then it will fall apart, we have seen it at Chelsea and united and many of us have seen it in our own working life, great when boss is one of the boys but then it's F++k all to do with me when it goes tits up.
We can't change the media but we can stick with our team, don't let others spoil what we have by over thinking it.
Best City team in my lifetime and no dippers going to spoil my enjoyment

Fuckin hell the Dippers have taken over NW News on the BBC. Coverage went on and on.... they’ve only reached the final at this stage - you’d think they’d already won it... oh yes they think they have.
 
Fair play it was a stunning comeback, but to be just as fair Barca have previous for throwing away a first leg lead, in fact it was only last year. I actually thought the better team went through over two legs.

However, seeing the reaction, we must absolutely not fuck up against Brighton. They will beat Wolves, it could be by diving and cheating or a bent official, but there is no way they won't get 3 points on Sunday. They have been extremely lucky this season.
