Yes I realise that l have done a disservice to Mickey Mouse who has given enjoyment to billions all over the world for over 90 years.
I am not alone in not having much of a clue
who has won it in the past or not having a cĺue where some finalists even come from in this money making venture. At least a significant amount of Community Shield monies goes to charity.
If the mstch had not been hugely bigged up by the media because Liverpool are playing very few fans would be aware of it and even fewer giving a toss about it. Ffs Real v Kashima Antlers or Gremio or Al-Ain hardly grabs you by the balls does it? Auckland City have been in third place recently. I would be more interested in watching Bishop Auckland.

However, for some reason this competition seems to be a big deal in South America. So from an owner perspective, the World Cup of Clubs is probably a big thing.

Calling this a Mickey Mouse trophy is a bit silly really. Our club and fans claimed a quadruple last season that included the Community Shield so to downplay the World Club Cup is childish in my opinion.

I'd love us to win the Champions League and then beat Boca Juniors or River Plate in the WCC.

I suspect that there many others who couldn't actually give a shit about either.

They finished 4th in the PL and got a ‘Champions League’ place.

They lost 3 of their first 4 games and drew the 4th, and still made the CL knockout stages. Just like Atalanta did this season in the CL.

Yet they are Champions of Europe(?) and in a 4 team World Club tournament.

Get real.

It’s yet another contrived ‘FIFA money’ making mini football tournament.

To be fair bud I would rather win the league cup than this abomination of a cup, and I'd say that if we were in it because I would rather win domestic cups than even the champions league which isn't really IMO the champions league.
