Did you see the video of the Everton fans singing? "You nearly won the league" "You nearly won the league"

A lot of Everton fans believe that the lost point dropped at Goodison meant Everton won City the league, what are your thoughts?

Hopefully your fans will have a bit more respect in coming season, the City player bus attack was one of the lowest fan moments I can remember! The hatred between the set of fans because of your fans behaviour has really gone up a notch. You are now clearly the most hated set of fans in the league!

Liverpool are available at 13/5 which seems very high to me, If you signed De Ligt, a quality midfielder and VAR does it's job you'll be difficult to beat

I think that City fans, Everton fans and United fans can all make that claim. As a Liverpool fan it is clear that Liverpool had too many draws and too many matches that were won with a one goal margin.

I don't really see the need to sign De Ligt. VVD, Lovren, Gomez and Matip is good enough, in my book. We need a quality addition that can play in all positions in the front three, one midfielder that can create more chances and penetrate lines (another Ox player) and someone that can cover Alexander Arnold (and in a perfect world Robertson as well).

So 3 to 4 players required

I expect LFC to not have as much luck as they did last year, not only with last minute goals and decisions but also with injuries.. They just cannot go like that again! I also expect other teams to have worked them out to a degree (Like the media said everyone had worked out Pep).

But I do think they can improve on some of the players they have and Keita having had a season with them will be an improvement.

All in all another ding dong season with them, bring it on!"

It must surely have been posted on here before; has to be. What a weird cult they truly are.

Calling @Don Howe... Excellent tweet there, fella.

Howard should look for posts that user wrote about Balotelli when he left liverpool or as his loan spell was going sour.

Would be surprised if he wasn't spitting venom at him.

That’s the one, Ireland was superman, Elano wasn’t good enough for Hughes and Wayne Bridge was yet to find out John Terry had fingered his mrs. Heady days, heady heady days.

One thing with Liverpool that year though, they nearly won the league. Least they are consistent.

Top at Christmas?
Sounds familiar.

I'll give my Liverpool view on the upcoming season, from a pure football perspective.

It's clear that Liverpool has adapted a more controlled approach to the all-out gegenpressing from the 17/18 season. And while pretty much all stats have improved from the season before, the 1 point gap (compared to city) is flattering, to say the least. Liverpool had luck in some decisive matches, while City got stuck by lightning both by Wolves and Newcastle. The chance (or risk, around here) that Liverpool will have the same fortune and city will have the same misfortune, is hardly something Liverpool can hope for.

There has to be a few additions, for Liverpool to be able to bridge the gap:
1) Alternative to Trent. It's easy to get caught up in the hype, but before December he was abysmal. I'd say he was Liverpool's worst player. And still, when he got injured in January the impact was colossal. Liverpool must have another speedy alternative, that can pin opponents in a defensive shape.
2) Penetration in the middle. This was Klopp's thing when he was @Dortmund. He switched sides and used the wings (like Liverpool do now), but he always had players that could break lines and penetrate in the middle. Often Liverpool are too easy to read, with the ball going from side to side with no threat from Wijnaldum, Henderson, Fabinho or Milner. Ox will be like a new signing, but will it be enough?
3) Alternative to the front three. Salah and Firmino had some pretty significant dips in form, and with the kind of midfield Liverpool have it becomes really troublesome when one wing loses it's edge. Shaq isn't an alternative, and Origi is not good enough. City can rotate the front three when they need, both to rest and to adapt to opponents. Liverpool will need at least one quality addition.
fair post, although I don't agree with your opinion on origi, I think he is a well decent player

Couple of beauties from RAWK:

"If you were a visitor who knew nothing about football, went to the Etihad Campus (the stadium doesn't count as it was basically gifted to them), then seeing the facilities there, you would believe you were at an Elite club. Then you look at their past players and honours and realise they are nothing of the sort."

How did you end up with Anfield again?

"And if you ambled down millionaires row then you would look at the lottery winner's house and assume he's had an amazingly successful career and was now basking in the rewards of his lifelong effort. Of course, you'd be wrong.

And if this sounds sour towards anyone who wins a lottery in life I can assure that it's not at all. Good luck to anyone who gets lucky, but just remember where you came from, be gracious and act with a little humility, dignity and class and you will find yourself respected for it. Act like an entitled twat, and expect all the scorn you deserve."

Holy moly! This guy clearly hasn't got a single mirror in his house.

What is it we say about buswreckers' lack of self-awareness?

The word real is Spanish for "royal" and was bestowed to the club by King Alfonso XIII in 1920 together with the royal crown in the emblem.

In 1920, the club's name was changed to Real Madrid after King Alfonso XIII, a reputed football fan, granted the title of real ("royal" in English ) to the club. When the Second Spanish Republic was proclaimed in 1931, however, the club dropped both the word Real and the royal crown.

A valid reason to call a club European Royalty, rather than some tagged on and made up shit. ;-)

Not only that. When Liverpool win the European Cup/Champions League more times than Real Madrid, currently 13 times, over twice as many times as Liverpool, then Liverppol fans might have some justification in referring to Liverpool as *European Royalty*. Until then......

Class, dignity, respect.
