Fair.Liverpool have improved as a team since last season - losing the league by a single point has given them massive motivation and self-belief - they started this season knowing they were well capable of getting at least 97 points. They have been on the right side of VAR but more importantly they have had barely any injuries to key players. All their players are in consistent decent form. It is their season.
We have not been at the level we were last season - the loss of Kompany from the club cannot be underestimated, his leadership on and off the pitch was critical. We have had injuries to key players and suffered at the hands of VAR. We have lacked a leader on the pitch and the form of some of our players has dipped - we have lacked consistency.
It's fine margins, but that's all it takes sometimes.
It was us that stops them. That's why it's a kick in the balls knowing that we have gift wrapped the league for them. We've clocked it up this season for whatever reason, 5 loses if would be and absolute miracle of we win it. We would have win every game and hope the gypos's loose 6 odd games!!! But VAR would never let that happen.The only thing stopping them winning the League is the end of the world.

When they went 1-0 up I told my mate from now on its like 90% chance that they get the clean sheet.
This kind of defensive stability worth so much as it shows also something that helped them to win CL last season.

I had that feeling sometimes under Mancini. Go 1-0 up and game is done. Scored 12 more goals than Liverpool and still 16(+3?) points behind. As the saying goes, defense win titles.
It's been 7 consecutive PL clean sheets for Liverpool in games including Wolves, Leicester, Tottenham and United. I think it coincided with the return of Gomez.
That midfield list is not that great but works for them. Only Fabinho would stand a chance of starting for us imo.
Said it a few weeks back but there’s a chance they could win this at the Ethiad if both teams win all their remaining games up to that, I think I’ll be sick if it does, also expect a lot of bother at the game if they do.
