We are seeing the same thing with holidays, theater tickets and concerts. No one in any industry wants to be the one to pull the plug in case they end up responsible for refunds/ loss of earnings. The season is done and will have to be voided due to relegation, promotion and European places. The title can't be awarded as even though we all admit the dips would have won they are not mathematicaly over the line. Soon the Govt will probably declare any public gatherings over a few hundred off limits as part of containment / delay, or whatever the new name for too little to late Once that happens the fa, clubs and sky get to say tough shit, act of God, no refunds. The scousers will have got over their initial desire to loot and murder and be back into 'next year la' mode.
I don't think any right minded football fan would deny that they do deserve to win it this year. We have been poor, and no matter how they have done it (with some ref/VAR assistance etc), they have been exceptional. I think they would have beaten our points record. And if it was between playing the rest of the matches or calling it quits now and giving them the title. I think i could live with them having it and keeping out record intact.
Yet nothing changes the fact that they haven't actually won it yet. So there is no way they can just be given it.
Directly related to their fans behaviour though, i hope the league is voided. It's a petty attitude that i will allow myself to have!

At the moment - I’m not enjoying everyone relishing the prospect of cancelling the season just so they can deny them the title. It may be the right thing to do. But I just believe we should see where things stand when this virus calms down.
But if the season isn't going to be nulled, and played out ,say in July/August/September it would balls up next years comp as well. It not just about denying Dippers but to ensure, hopefully, next season will be played in full.
