I love the perceived digs at us that United are their true rivals.

They must have a lot of younger lads posting on there as, as any Liverpool fan older than about 30 will tell you - as one told me - until Ferguson won the FA cup in 1990 there was NO heightened rivalry with United beyond the usual and historic geographical rivalry.
Until then it was a rivalry no bigger or smaller than the rivalry most clubs have amongst themselves: City/United and Leeds, Liverpool and Arsenal, etc.

This “el Plastico” self-styled ‘biggest rivalry in football’ was manufactured in the 90s in order to appeal to the new breed of football spectator who got most of their opinions from the newly formed Sky monopoly (as it was then). It was good for business and actively encouraged by both clubs and broadcasters/media. It was, and basically still is, a brilliant money spinner for them, making millions off brain dead fashion victims.

My best mate is a united fan (sorry but we’ve been mates for nearly 50 years) and he told me this was bollocks And maintained it “goes back to before we were born”. He maintained this stance until I showed him a YouTube clip of united fans singing YNWA at a game at old Trafford in the 80s and asked him to explain it.

It is a made up fierce rivalry instigated by Ferguson in order to curry favour with the Stretford end and buy him some much needed time at the beginning of his tenure at the meccano stadium.
I’m of the opinion, and have been for some time, that the pisscan also used it to belittle us.

"Whiny manager, crybaby fans, fake titles, murderous owners, gifted stadium, not respected by anyone. If the Premier League had an arsehole, it'd be Manchester City."

Whiny Manager?
Crybaby fans?
Murderous?
Gifted stadium?
not respected by anyone?

Are you absolutely certain you're talking about City la?
It’s not their owners that are murderous tbf.

More love from RAWK xxxx

Six fucking times you silly pathetic c*nt, you'd sell your mother to get to a European Cup final let alone win it once. You've pumped endless amounts of money in your club and you still couldn't do it, despite how easy of run in's you've drawn over the last couple of years. You've bottled it numerous times against vastly inferior sides in the competition, and it will be fucking hilarious once again if you fail to do it this year.

That aside nobody gives a flying fuck about you lot winning anything. It's why everyone is fine with you lot winning as it means fuck all in the grand scheme of things, you midget mentality inbred sister fingering c*nts, who can't get out of your Red Manc shadows no matter what you do.

Nobody gives a fuck about your league cups, your FA Cups or your league titles, when you're back by a government state with oil money, and despite all that money you were broken last season by December, you were behind 20 plus points in February, and you moaned and whinged how the league was set up against you and it was all because of injuries [you had Laporte and Sane out, whilst we've had 16 players injured this year].

Your shite fans pissed and moaned because you didn't get enough coverage from the media, so even when you won the league title back to back, it was overshadowed by us winning the European Cup for the 6th time [count that,1,2,3,4,5,6]. And it was fucking glorious. You had about 200 people at your parade celebrating your league title that nobody gave a flying fuck about, whilst we showed you what a parade is actually supposed to be and what European Champions look like.

19 + 6, you sister shagging twats, get that embedded in your brains, as you won't surpass that in your lifetime. Your Red Manc Inbred Brothers dominated the league for 20 years, and only have 1 league title more than us to show for it, and shit themselves at the though of us getting to 20 [which we will].

I've heard more noise at a funeral than at the Emptyhad, stuck in forever traffic you unimaginative plain vanilla boring rich spoiled mutant twats.

It's the Liverpool equivalent of Godwin's Law. The thing is they get there in 1.
I have read that twice and still don’t understand what is being said. Can someone translate for me or at least let me know the salient points

It’s somewhat correct though. Spain has had 9 different champions, Scotland 12. England has had 24.
To be fair, I was simply pointing out that to those other clubs, they too will feel historically significant. He said "It’s not like Spain or Scotland here, there are loads of historically significant clubs in England." This whilst arguing that lots of other clubs in England have contributed to the success of the league.
Even looking at your figures
England 24 of 92 clubs = 26%
Scotland 12 of 42 clubs = 28%
Not a lot of difference despite Old Firm dominance?
