I'm sure there are lots of clubs in Spain and Scotland that would consider themselves historically significant

between the 2 there are less than 10 historically significant sides. There's more than double that in England alone.

To be fair, I was simply pointing out that to those other clubs, they too will feel historically significant. He said "It’s not like Spain or Scotland here, there are loads of historically significant clubs in England." This whilst arguing that lots of other clubs in England have contributed to the success of the league.
Even looking at your figures
England 24 of 92 clubs = 26%
Scotland 12 of 42 clubs = 28%
Not a lot of difference despite Old Firm dominance?

Because English football has been going much longer, more teams are historically significant. 24 is 100% more than 12.
