Bad injuries are part and parcel of the game unfortunately. Sonny badly injured Gomes which was accidental but Everton fans didn't feel the need for death threats or get on his back.

Pickford was very clumsy but again that's accidental and part of the game

Referees to review controversial decision not to send Pickford off

EXCLUSIVE: The Anfield club were fuming the incident went unpunished by on-field official Michael Oliver but more pertinently referee David Coote, who was overseeing VAR for the game at Stockley Park.

Will it ever stop ? this is getting beyond bloody silly now, it wont stop until Pickford is banned.
I thought I couldnt dislike liverpool anymore but than a player injuries one of theirs and liverpool cant sleep at night for crying and having nightmares. The press/media want Pickford career ti be ruined.
It's a bloody disgrace the way they are after Pickford, all teams suffer injuries it's about time LFC and the press/media except it as part of the game.
My dislike of this club has gone up another level.

I don't see anything wrong with the periodic ref gathering using that incident as something to review - it's clearly wrong that Pickford was not sent off, and they need to clarify why it went wrong even if it's just to themselves. Also, the headline belies the statement within it that the incident is "almost certain" to be used.

It's not going to get Pickford suspended though. I don't know any mechanism that would allow a ban to be put in several weeks down the line, let alone the midpoint that is described in the article.

Didnt Balotelli ger banned weeks later because the press/media wouldn't let it lie ? When he was accused of stamping on someone's head by accident...the ref saw it and wave play on ....than after a week or so the ref said he didnt see it even with pictures of the ref less than 6 feet away waving play on and looking staring at Balotelli, Balotelli was banned ?

They change the rules to suit

Don't know about that, sorry.

I know he got banned for catching Scott Parker, but I thought that was a day or two later in the usual timeline of things that refs didn't take onfield action on back then. Happy to be corrected if there is another incident.
 
We all predicted this monster when the cult began improving,and they became realistic contenders for the league and other trophies.

Now that success has arrived,its actually much worse than feared,they are beyond intolerable and nauseating to the core.They really do see themselves as different,they have a bizarre sense of self entitlement,and believe they should have special dispensation when incidents upset their existence,while being hypocritical and displaying double standards at every other time.

They are very much the skid mark on the underpants of football.

When the majority of the media back them up as well it reinforces there cult and delusion!
