Everybody has always hated them, like the rags.

Older fans will remember how unbearable they were when they were winning everything. Add on the mass robbing of other city's they visited and the violence they inflicted on people visiting Liverpool and that's a good start. Being irrelevant for a while a lot of younger fans hadn't experienced their unbearable cultish behaviour. They have now.
