I have a good friend who has been a LFC season ticket holder since the 80s who has followed them all over Europe. He is a proper fan who has great knowledge of the game and I respect his views. We don't allow our football rivalry to get in the way of our friendship. He has stopped going to European aways because of the behaviour of an element of Liverpool's away support.Oh I am still here and have posted a couple of things since the hammering at the weekend.
That said I agree it is very true that it probably does suggest at those that are wanting to just push their views on others as opposed to those that maybe genuinely are willing to listen to the views of others.
......equally they may well be just tidying their room!
Have to agree (to a degree) that maybe those that "go away" can with their "passion" (for want of a better word) go too far or give off the wrong image. Whenever I have gone to an away game it has always been more low key but was aware of others being very obnoxious.
Although not a club match I think the worst example of an away fan I experienced was at an England game in Budapest. As I say it wasn't club based just really loud and obnoxious to the locals and made me keep my mouth shut and coat zipped up so as not to be tarred with the same brush.
Of course City have got some dickheads in our support but I can honestly say it is a very small minority and on the 21 away Euro trips I have done any trouble has been self-policed by our fans.
The problem many fans have with Liverpool is that it seems they refuse to accept they have a problem with some of their support. I get your point about England fans though and that's why I don't attend international matches and don't know anyone who does.
