I Can't agree with your comment that liverpool are looking like a flash in the pan, a one hit wonder this is a team that took us down to the last game in our 18/19 winning season only for them to run away with the title the following season and currently sit one point off top spot now so as much as i dislike it that doesn't sound like a flash in the pan, one it wonder to me.

They throw the cups under the bus and don't compete on all fronts, he's won one domestic trophy in 5 and a half years at the scousers spending a kings ransom too.

Putting that in perspective, City have won 8 of the last ten domestic trophies and that's without the help of the footballing authorities and VAR.

We had to win 14 games on the spin to beat them by a point in 2019..

14 games at the business end of the season, everything riding on every one of them..

They however were reffed very differently to us and were afforded some very questionable decisions whereas we were given fcuk all..

It was a fantastic effort by us to hold off the establishment that season..

Last season, nothing was left to chance, they were given everything and didn't get a contentious decision go against them until the new year..

Last season should have been shelved but no, too much effort had gone into getting them into position, it had to be completed at whatever cost..

Our game at theirs was a 6 point shift alone..

No penalty, no sending off, offside goal, all in one game and all against us..

Chances of that eh..

They are everything I posted and more..!

And all without an injured KDB and Fern!

Not enough is made of that.

Phenomenal.

One slight saving grace for Liverpool sadly is that they're almost certainly not up against a 95+ point juggernaut like we were last season. So if they have a season very similar to ours last season they could still find themselves in a title race.

On another similar note, I do think the fact we had a "poor" season and still got 81 points is taken a bit for granted. If we'd been that bad in 2015/16 we'd have won the league.

I still think they will be the team to beat for various reasons unless we go up a couple of gears, which I am not sure will happen. 17/18 for us and 19/20 for the scouse rats, the league was won between Nov to March. 18/19 totally different being neck and neck. I really hope we grab the initiative.

Gomez ruled out for most of the season. With tendon injury in the year. If they manage to win the leauge without their 2 CBS for the rest of the year I'll be very impressed(pains me to say it)

This now leaves there CBS with no wiggle room really and the likes of matip is already injury prone himself. There going to need lads like him for every game now which isn't good for their fit CBs

I think Matip is 1st choice when fit before Gomez

Sky Sports website running an article titled "Have Liverpool suffered the most injuries".

Hopefully, it won't spoil your enjoyment of the said article, or temper your sympathy for Liverpool if I tell you that the answer is "no". Even according to Sky, one club has suffered more injuries. I won't ruin the suspense by telling you which club.
