You can’t ask much more from your back up though. And there’s the fact that 99% of the players Klopp has signed have gone up at least another level under his tutelage. He’s a belting young player who could easily get miles better quickly. We’re definitely interested in him though, it’s certainly more than just speculation.

Nabby Keita looked brilliant at Leipzig but has not really made the transition to the Premier League. I think Thiago has been an excellent player but he was in and out of the Bayern team last season. I also think Fabhino is a great player but he doesn't seem to get much recognition at LFC while golden boy Henderson is hailed as a genius by the English media.
Of course as a City fan I want Thiago to flop so it could just be wishful thinking!

As much as I rate Phil, I reckon we need a seasoned and composed world class midfielder like Alcantara. Phil would still feature in a load of games notwithstanding.

I'm not one to knock Thaksin, he was a tread on the ladder without which we might have struggled to get to where we are now. I know it wasn' a bed of roses but without him and Sven, Gary Cook and Leslie, who in my opinion all did their bit, we would have been a little back from where we are.
