He was from a notorious gangster family in Liverpool. He threatened to shoot SG in his legs. John Kinsella ( associate of Paul Massey- executed later ) intervened with Bromley to keep off gerrards back( and knees ) and Bromley himself was later executed at the home of Charles Seiga another notorious liverpool villain. The rumours were that at the time of the rumoured move to Chelsea threats were made to his family. Another rumour was that one of his kids was fathered by another notorious villain- Steven Pancake Taylor. These are all well documented and appears some substance to them, more notably the Bromley/Kinsella incidents
Ahh, yes. I vaguely remember something like that in the papers at the time. So had it not been for the 'influence' of some of these villainous scousers Slippy may well have gone to Stamford Bridge?

Gerrard's dad spoke up for Kinsella in a written letter to court. I guess once the truce was called gerrard felt it safe to stay. It was bromleys dad who was assassinated but his son is probably the unnamed person referred to as the psycho. He is still in prison, and his younger brother was executed also. A nice family all being said.

George Bromley junior had lot to say about him staying
Hell fire, I have just googled him, at least he has now joi Ed his dad.
@shackattack According to what I have just read, junior is the o e who threatened Gerrard and was called psycho and is now dead having been gunned down in somei es kitchen. Strangely enough the one whose kitchen it was got off with murder!!!!!
In a liverpool crown court who would have thought

His dad was shot dead in the kitchen. George junior is still in prison having escaped for an hour. George jnrs son was executed by a notorious family. Liverpool is more like Gotham city than it realises

So an old lady got fined sitting in the garden with her friends, the queen has to sit alone tomorrow , social distanced crowd for sarah not allowed either but they can meet up to wreck another coach with no masks and shouting but the police dont arrest and fine them ,the dipper police are terrified of them
Reading Shackattack's postings I'm not surprised - it makes 1920's Chicago sound like St Mary in The Meade.

Hi,like your posts and thank you for your time..What I can not comprehend is this. Your grounds are a short distance apart so in effect the same population and socioeconomic issues not a factor. No bad things happen with Everton fans..Just trying to comprehend why Liverpool fans behave this way..am just trying to make sense of this as it really disgusts me. Am I silly in thinking the Shankly life or death quote, and a hankering for previous glory is to blame ? Pleased you have your new stadium agreed..looks mighty impressive. Will not mention Moyes or Cahill..always jinxed us !!!!
I honestly don't know why Everton fans don't brick coaches. Maybe we're just not successful enough.

I think also years of winning fuck all has probably made us a bit more grounded and cynical. Liverpool fans worship their managers as gods. Everton fans think our managers are cunts (except Duncan Ferguson and maybe Ancelotti). Shackattack is absolutely spot on and social media has made them even worse. Look at all the twats filming themselves at Bramley Moore or our shop for social media clout, or that guy who keeps popping up on Twitter with oh-so-witty Steaua Bucharest names. And these are men in their fifties in most cases, although there was also a woman driving past our fans playing that fucking dirge out of her car at full volume. We'd won so I don't know what her point was.

I know a few Forest fans who were at the Hillsborough game and the replay, they hate Liverpool with a passion. Forest fans were helping on the pitch apparently, and really sympathetic and supportive outside the ground. Then in the replay Liverpool's first song was ''we hate Nottingham Forest, we hate Everton too.....'' and then Forest put no effort into the replay and Brian Laws scored an own goal and Alridge sarcastically patted him on his head. Nearly 30 years and they still talk about it.
Also know a Forest fan whose dad and grandma were at Hillsborough. He supports the HJC, as does his wife (a Watford fan), but hates Liverpool.

Ahh, so they brought in an outside police force! Otherwise, nobody will have seen anything.

Probably a shortage of bricks with the dippers either chucking them or stacking them under wheel less cars ?

The steau shout more than anything sums them up. You would think after heysel they would have shown some humility and learned a valuable lesson in that. But no let's take the piss out of Everton by mocking the deaths of another teams fans. I remember being at goodison and they were chanting 2-0 to the murderers. If they do it it's banter - anyone else and they want the book thrown at them.

What happened at Hillsborough was a tragedy, I don't subscribe to the point of view that Liverpool fans are are entirely innocent. The poor buggers that died probably are, but i've no doubt there was an element of fans outside that arrived late, or didn't have tickets or dare i say have a few cans on the coaches over the Pennines that added to the chaos at the turnstiles outside. The fans amassing at those turnstiles were already creating a dangerous crush, I've read that there were traffic jams getting to the ground and the turnstiles probably were not designed to get people through at speed. Once kick off time gets close the panic to get in increases amongst most crowds . On this day the chaos and threat of crushing outside led to the fateful decision to open the gates. A simple act of closing off the centre pens would have directed the fans to the outer pens but as we all know , this wasn't done. The sheer force of the crowd propelled most down the central tunnel and into the centre pens. Survivors have spoken at length how they were swept away. The actions by the police and authorities afterwards were shameful.
It was common practice in those days to blag your way into a match, either by bribery, climbing over fences or forcing gates open. Liverpool fans are not alone in this, but because they have always had the numbers, it happened more than most. My parents were on the embankment at Burnden Park when a similar crush occurred and i've been in several scary crushes at football grounds, Rugby Internationals and pop concerts. Before all seater stadiums, surging forward after a goal used to be common place, the Kop at Liverpool was one of the most celebrated for it but you had to keep your wits about you. Stadium design, secure entry systems and a much better understanding of crowd flows and behaviour have made things safer for all of us.
You would think after Heysel and Hillsborough, Liverpool would have learnt some lessons, sadly i don't think they have and i don't think the club have gone anywhere near far enough in trying to curb the 'enthusiasm' of their fan base.

I've only been there since the disaster but having seen film footage of the stadium at the time, the signage for the outer pens was almost invisible. The obvious place to go was the central pens, particularly when it was clear that thr game had already started. But the operational plan was supposed to deal with that, by sealing off those pens if they were seen to be full, and directing fans to the outer pens.

It should have been clear well before kick-off that the central pens were already dangerously full. In fact, it WAS clear, as TV and CCTV footage later showed. Yet again, the Match Commander, Duckenfield, failed to notice or react. Once the gate was opened, the disaster unfolded as an unrestricted flow of fans instinctively headed into the already overcrowded central pens, which shouldn't have been allowed to happen. The final piece in the jigsaw was the collapse of one of the crush barriers, which led the crowd to fall forward, crush people under foot and suffocate those packs so tightly that they simply couldn't breathe.
The court case will indeed be interesting.
I recall being back down in London as the disaster unfolded and was so glad I hadnt taken up the offer of a ticket. As others have said, for anyone who had stood in the pens for other games, they really were appalling.
I had gone to the league game there a few months before and had one of the girls I was with was in tears after a short time due to the crushing (not just having to spend time with me) and we did move to the corner pen...at least we could.
Again as others have said, I do almost hope that these last court matters will draw a line under the whole sorry affair

And therein lies the fundamental difference between the two red-shirted clubs and their followers.
Rags and dippers believe it’s their right to be successful: probably think it was part of the Magna Carta that they would always be permitted to lord it up over everyone else. That somehow they will always be at the top of the tree, sneering down at everybody else.
As is well documented we (City) went up and down the tables quite regularly long before the Sheik appeared. We know too well the pain and suffering involved in seeing your club relegated, dropping down a league, feeling the real depths of utter despair when you realise that when you see your club‘s fixtures for the next season you’ll be looking up directions to find where the fuck they’re playing. It’s not good.
We were like yourselves, starved of success for so long it seemed that failure was embedded in our DNA, and all the while our loathsome neighbours were picking up trophies, gloating and taking the piss every chance they got.

But the only thing the redshirts do not have is humility, something our two clubs (and many more, it has to be said) do have - in abundance.

Success is nice, but loving the club you support through thick and thin is something that cannot be bought.

Well said that man

One of the initial reports into Hillsborough stated there was actually less fans in that stand than it was safe for. The problem was they were all in the central pens- the pens either side were near empty in comparison. Wasn't there so can't comment but those that were said the ticket touts were struggling to sell. The demand just wasn't there. A lot went through without showing tickets and as they weren't funnelled away from the central pens they went down the tunnel and sadly the inevitable crushing occurred
Pens in a football stadium!

Supporters treated like livestock; a fucking disgusting way to manage human beings!

To be fair, he knew Cantona had set the precedent.........
