Does it need a Plan B though? Maybe they just need to deal with fallow years, e.g. 2 years challenging, 2 years rebuilding, 2 years challenging, 2 years rebuilding, etc.

IMO ( and I could be wrong - almost certainly am) if Kopp stays 10 years he'll have 3 or 4 very strong teams, and 1 or 2 that'll win the league/CL. In the other years they might win the odd Cup.

Do they have the patience though? Does he?
He could well be gone by this time next year

///Everything you say is true. But on the other hand I wouldn’t want my club to be owned by a sugar daddy. I never want to see my club sack Gerrard the way Chelsea sacked Lampard. It’s just not who we are.
What is the correct way to sack a manager then? Is it the way they sacked Rodgers? Or the way they sacked club legend Dalglish two months after he won them their first trophy in years? Is that "who they are"?

on current form, based on their competition, don't really fancy their top four chances. can see leipzig dumping them out the champions league as well. klopp seems more focused on making silly (and actually pretty unsportsmanlike) excuses, rather than doing his job and competing for trophies.

the team's generally having a bit of a nightmare - runners up community shield, 4th round fa cup, 4th round league cup. as title defences go, it's one of the least impressive i remember seeing once you factor in all competitions.

chelsea were bad the year mourinho was sacked, but still managed a decent run in the fa cup. also they won the league back the year after with conte. whereas i can't realistically see the 2019-20* overachievers shaking their ‘one season wonder’ tag.

quite a lot riding on the next few games for them to turn it round, but they're well on course for being the worst champions in 25 years.

and i don't recall chris sutton, jason wilcox etc trying to con the refs out of so quite many penalties either.

Thats what I mean. I doubt that the Liverpool media frenzy will not freak out if they spend 18months rebuilding the team, e.g. replacing Salah, and I doubt that the club wouldn't cave in to that pressure.

I also wonder if Kopp would cope without adulation for that amount of time. I think he'd prefer to go elsewhere, build there and smile a lot with his super shiny teeth.

But if they had the patience (ala cringe united were with Ferguson once Chelsea and ourselves came along).... they'd be better off. Unless that is they get an awesome next manager.

German national job after the Euros this summer.

The Germans need to rebuild for the next World Cup.

Stevie G to replace him.

Stevie G would be awesome. He'd start great and then hit a little blip before they'd hate him. Could be a lottery regarding his final breakdown... would it be a spit, an elbow, a tearful winge?
