Michael Ngoo points the finger at Willie Collum after being crocked by Virgil Van Dijk

Kilmarnock striker Michael Ngoo has accused Celtic star Virgil van Dijk of deliberately trying to “do him” with a
horror tackle.

The 22-year-old faces months on the sidelines after a crude van Dijk challenge left him with a huge gash in his leg during the 2-0 loss at Parkhead last month.

The 22-year-old will have an op this week and has no idea when he’ll return.

Van Dijk escaped punishment from ref Willie Collum but Ngoo told MailSport: “I told our physio right away that van Dijk had tried to do me. Before the tackle there were a few words said between us.

“Then he came through the back of me. I think it was deliberate. I took off my sock in the changing room and there was a
horrendous cut. I have the pictures to
prove it.”

Van Dijk declined to comment on Ngoo’s
comments yesterday.

Spite and resentment. That’s what Michael Ngoo felt
towards Celtic ace Virgil van Dijk in the aftermath of the tackle that will put him out of football for months.

The Kilmarnock striker didn’t just have the physical pain to deal with as he assessed the damage done by the Dutchman.

He also had to contend with the psychological blow of knowing that his first season as a Rugby Park player was in tatters.

After leaving Liverpool in the summer, Ngoo was looking to rebuild his career in Ayrshire.

But because of van Dijk’s nasty
challenge at Parkhead in October, the 22-year-old isn’t even sure when he will kick a ball again.
Got to wonder what possesses a bloke called Willie Collum to become a professional referee?

Our season is over. No possibility of winning the PL and no possibility of winning the CL. Without crowds it's a crazy season anyway with mad results every week so maybe it's best just to write it off and go again next year. Hopefully we can still make top four.

And no, Liverpool fans do not delight in injuries to rival teams. If you want to hate you can find anything. You know, like Corbyn is an anti-semite, or Trump was right about Covid ( in one of ten thousand contradictory statements he actually once said something accurate.)

ACL surgery, he'll be lucky to be walking without a limp in 2 months. At 29 this is potentially career ending for the level and consistency he's been playing too over the last couple of seasons. It's a very long road back from here.
Agreed, imo, unless you've had the injury/surgery yourself, or you're at the very least a specialist surgeon in the field, you can never fully appreciate the impact and implications of it, it's a fuckin killer, both physically and mentally, moving in straight lines is fine, but once you start twisting, changing directions etc, it fucks you over, every time, he'll come back, but will be a level or two below at least, and he's a big lad, there's a hell of a lot of weight to distribute on the one knee when he has to.

He wasn’t the fastest of defenders before the injury, this will slow him down even more.

Can’t think of many strikers out running him or many quicker centre backs in the league to be honest. Hopefully he’s not when he returns though

I for one take absolutely no satisfaction in seeing him injured, and anyone who does is a prime example of how the saturated coverage of this SKY confected 'be all and end all' Premier League, has turned many followers from being fans of their own team to moreover haters of any other.

It's a great example of how sportsmanship and respect have been replaced by gamesmanship and hatred throughout football.

Funny on the BBC Football website in their feature on 'How much will Liverpool miss van dijk'; in the first chart the two defenders with a better goals conceded per minute record are our very own Laporte and Walker.

Yet the general media narrative is still that van dijk and co are better than our defenders.

Feel for the player, at 29 its not a good injury to have especially a big guy like that. Its a lot of weight to put on a knee when turning quickly to sprint. As for the club and fanbase couldn't give 2 f@cks nevermind empathy. If anything i hope this keeps you out of the top 4. Sorry not sorry.
