Liverpool thread 2020/21

Quite often their lone tactic is similar to that of a Rugby Union side trying to set up for a drop goal.

The get the front three in the box and constantly look to get Robertson or TAA free so one of them can swing it into the box.

It's obviously been successful and their fullbacks are very adept at crossing. However, it's nice to see more teams nullifying this threat - at last.

They play in a very similar way to Bacon's best rag teams did.

Cross, cross, cross. If that fails, dive, dive, dive, con, con, con.

Did anyone else see the headline “ Boxing Day cancelled for dippers “ over Christmas ?
I was expecting an outpouring of grief, candles and death threats but it related to the traditional countless charity sea swims that normally take place.
Still the 27th was not much better for the grief merchants.

82 mins... West Brom equalise.

87 mins... Mane goes down in the area, his head turning towards the referee as he falls. Some may say, he dives.

Have to give some credit to the referee, standing up to Klopp's behaviour and booking him. But I do wonder if, with a full crowd screaming at him minutes from time, that Mane fall becomes a penalty and var goes on a tea break at that exact same time.

Yep I'm cynical, but can you blame me considering the number of penalties given to teams in red this season and last.
I popped onto the RAWK shite - there are scores of posts bemoaning that Mane was not given a penalty for the GBH assault on him.

So not an imaginary injustice at all

They are so fucking entitled - actually worse than the scum I think (well possibly)

No team in the league will want to be chased by Manchester City for a league title, If anyone’s going to chase a team to the very end it’s us
Because? ;-) We’re Man City and we fight to the end, the Boys in Blue never give in!

Sorry couldn’t resist! :-)
Stay safe, take care.

Mrs Vienna has just spotted this from a Littlewoods fan on Facebook:

"No surprise that Walker has it (COVID).

If anyone deserves it, he does."

Absolute scumbag!
As classy as ever ffs.
From a fanbase that refused to abide by covid regulations with their title celebrations they have no sense of irony as usual.

I'm afraid to say I checked out a few sites to see what the opposition reaction to the postponement was, including that one you mention and RAWK. One contributor to the latter suggested words to the effect of 'If that was Liverpool, we're told to play'. To be fair, several Liverpool supporters have pointed out to him/her that s/he's hardly a candidate for an invitation to be a panellist on 'The Brains' Trust'.

The BBC match thread for Palace-Leicester too is littered with calls for City to be punished by forfeiting the Everton and any subsequent games etc. Braindead f**kwits.

Oddly enough, as I was reading said sites, the i-Thingy shuffle played an old Was (Not Was) track, 'Out Come The Freaks' which seemed, to me at any rate, a moment of synchronicity..

I know, I know.. I'm a grown man with grandkids who should know better.. thirty years working in the pharmaceutical regulatory industry and fifteen in law should have taught me to be mature and not to get involved. Forgive me, Father, I have sinned..

I hope I'm wrong but I fear that this may yet grow as a story with which (yet again) the media will choose to beat us alone over the head, nothwithstanding whatever has happened at other clubs (eg Newcastle recently).

Best wishes to everyone at the club who has contracted this; indeed, to any player/staff member at any club affected by this awful disease.

The BBC threads are worse than anything. How a public broadcasting company is allowing it is a disgrace. Absolutely full of scum trolls who follow Littlewoods.

Wait till aldo wakes up after an afternoon on the kestrel and knocking out pigeons- twitter will be ablaze with his wisdom.

Catching the virus can happen to anyone. Passing to close in the street or brushing by someone in a shop. Unless somebody has been seen out clubbing it with lots of other people best to ignore the comments. The world is full of idiots and clever people who behave like idiots where football is concerned

If true that's bad, I think he's a bit like vinnie where his body isn't taking a lot of consecutive games too good.
Poor fucker, the rats are really taking a hit with injuries.
Matip is made of glass. Not a bad player but for some reason he gets injured mostly when nobody is near him. Along with Keita Liverpool should cut their losses and move them on.
