Liverpool thread 2020/21

Some great quotes from that article you cited:

“According to a source close to the club, of 35 players 22 are asthmatic – 63% of the squad, over five times higher than the 12% UK average.”

and:

“Liverpool cannot win this season because physically, scientifically and morally they cannot. They cannot overdose again on caffeine because of the side-effects. They cannot keep up the pace with other substances and painkillers because the amounts needed to win the league would cause a slew of injuries.”

You say the article is a load of rubbish and that is a very easy to say but if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it’s a duck!

As regards “supplements” and our team if we have taken anything wrong we haven’t done it very well. We play a slow buildup, don’t engage in overly physical challenges and still get injuries!
Ah now la quack quack

Do you think that Real Madrid look like they’ve been juicing their players? Look at the size of the cunts, they’re massive. Now think how many times they get tested a year. That says to me that they’re doing everything they can to stretch the regulations because on the face of it, something is going on. And if they’re doing it, you can bet every other elite club is bang at it in some way or other, both our clubs included. My own take is that all the club doctors and health professionals are expert at regulation blurring. But that’s the modern game.
I think you are still bitter about the 2018 European cup final.

Regulation blurring is one thing, cheating is another. You still haven’t answered my question about which of our two clubs is more likely to used drugs?

The answer will never come, he's already gone past stage 4 and accused me of something done by another

I could write exactly the same article about City and it would have the same legal or literate weight - the square root of fuck all. There is nothing in that article that has any form of tangible reference. Lines like ‘According to a source close to the club’ could come out of any given day or indeed hour on SSN. Journos use that sort of bollocks because it boosts a story and is completely unprovable.
On the supplements front, you’ve spent three years or so achieving on the highest plains. Perhaps that’s where they benefitted you? Or maybe neither team has taken illegal drugs and it’s just that they’re two brilliant football teams that are across the way* from each other. I know which I think is more likely.

What I can't find anywhere are the names of the players who are asthmatics. Do you think you could post them on here for me please. Or the ones in the squad who are not asthma sufferers, that won't take as long. Please make the list your next post. Thanks.

Not sure if anyone has seen this before just seen it on Facebook. Utter despicable pricks

FSG need to make one of the two decisions now:

1. Spend money like Man City. Match them dollar to dollar. (Impossible)

OR

2. Find a way to stop Man City's financial lawlessness. Demand that FFP rules be made water tight. LFC follows the rules, why should we be afraid of promoting tight and fair rules? Get them banned from UCL. Demand tht UEFA fight cases in court better.

Man City's bench has a better defense than us. Their bench can be a separate Premier League club and win Europa League. They will never have an injury crisis because of their buying power. And every passing season they will only be stronger.

You can win against strong opponents, but you can't keep winning for long against outright cheaters. This is not Klopp's fight, he fought hard last 2 years, this is FSG's responsibility.

Nowt wrong with that at all. Note the last two lines, cult members in their droves will be sending him money as I type. All I can say is it beats the Nigerian Prince emails I send out.

I can give 5. They're on my register. Can't speculate though

The irony of this post from rawk. The likes of Liverpool, United and Arsenal are the very definition of tourist clubs. I can’t comprehend how stupid this post is, it’s like he/she thinks Anfield is full of scousers every game. ‘I’m sure we’ve picked up a fair few over the years’. No shit you clown. Go to any village/town/city around England, mainly places that have teams in the lower divisions and they will be infested with fake rags and dippers.

There are loads of 'fans' like that out there, aren't there. I'm sure we've picked up a fair few over the years due to our success too. Abu Dhabi will have suddenly found their 'fan' base growing in recent seasons too. I genuinely feel sorry for these people. They have no genuine connection to the clubs they attach themselves to, have no genuine affinity with them or passion for them. They are just insecure and need to feel associated with someone or something currently seen as successful.

Even in these parts some are not immune to it. I recall in the 90s when Blackburn took the Title with Jack Walker's money and Newcastle were an exciting prospect under Keegan. I saw a couple of Blackburn and Newcastle shirts on lads around our way not even known for their interest in football. Of course, as both clubs went on the wane, those shirts were never seen again. I've even spotted a kid in a full Abu Dhabi Sportswash kit in Aintree Asda a few times.

It's all so very soulless, but then again, a soulless 'fan' base for a soulless club with morally bankrupt owners sort of suits that lot at the Emptyhad.
I've encountered far more obnoxious foreign Man United and Liverpool fans than I have City fans. The kind who think Everton have never won a trophy ever.

By your logic here, every single position on the pitch should be immediately interchangeable for each member of the squad. If you think that footballers can just adapt to new positions with different needs and skill sets just because they’re first teamers, I’d say it might be a little sinking in that’s needed at your side. If football was as fluid and linear as that, everybody could be a manager. But do you even realise the difference between playing centre mid and centre half? They’re the two hardest positions on the pitch to play and whilst they’re often close to each other, their roles are markedly different. To expect seamless transition at this level is madness.
I’d have replied earlier but I’ve been up the wall with work.

it’s called total football......

Thanks mate. If you’re the person I think you are, you’re nearly as unpopular as me on here. Aren’t you the lad calling your own fans & this forum out on other teams fora? Give you something, takes balls to do that and then come back. I remember that thread well, there were a few naughty words in that.
I think you might be getting your forums mixed up. I don't remember anything like that.
Even if it did happen, It's most certainly is not the **** that you're talking to.

.2 they’ve been trying to change and enforce rules for years anyway, them and several other clubs. They are proven cheats at FFP and email hacking, then there’s their sponsors.

We used to think like that before Pep.

Fabian fucking Delph was left back in our centurion season.

That's not quite true though is it? They have, as I've said previously, been responsible owners financially (even if they're a snide, amoral bunch of cheats). But they've lent the club money to build the new main stand and they're getting interest on the repayments.

I think the scouting reports they stole from us have run out. Minamino was they first clue, but when their centre halves all got injured, they confirmed this.

Tbh thats the concept behind how Pep trains the players. Total football and all that :)

I’m not so sure that it’s as cut & dried as that, but I take the sentiment of it. The most supported clubs are likely to be near the top of the most hated list purely by association.
It's not just the most supported though, it's the type of people who support them. Man Utd and previously Liverpool are magnets for glory supporters, who are the worst kind of fans. The sort of people who are giving it billy big bollocks when they're winning, but are suddenly nowhere to be found when they're not doing so well. The number of Liverpool fans who have recently reemerged after "not really being into football" for about 10 years was incredible. And because they only started supporting them in the first place because they were the best team, they feel like they've got some sort of divine right to always win things. Most people outside of Manchester grew up knowing one or two City fans, if any. But go to any small town with a shit football team and 90% of the wankers in the town are Man Utd fans if they're my age, and Liverpool fans if they're my dad's age. The type of people who walk into the pub on a Sunday clearly not knowing that their team is playing and then pretend to give a shit when they notice the score shows they're winning.

No doubt it'll change if we keep winning and attract more glory supporters, but most City fans at the moment are still of an age where they can remember being in the third tier not knowing if their club would survive. Nobody who's not currently a kid is supporting City because they are the best team.
