He’s the mayor of the Liverpool city region (i.e. their Andy Burnham), not the mayor of the city of Liverpool.

The city mayor fat meat head guy had to resign following allegations of planning corruption (not sure what’s happening with the legal case), and has now been replaced by a woman.

He's mates with Jamie Carraghers brother i seem to remember. Another cheeky, chirpy scouser who does nothing to destroy the stereotypes. Which is part of the problem whenever they travel anywhere. They all feel the need to live up to the stereotypes and behave accordingly.
