In their response the EFL said they’d look at the rules of the competition at the start of the season and revert to the dippers.....does anybody know what the rules stated for such circumstances?

Mane and Salah return. They will try for as many games as possible.

The irony of a team who completely disrespect the domestic cup competitions every year requesting a postponement is astonishing

They can only focus on one trophy per season, this season that trophy is the Carabao Cup.

I think it depends on the round you're in. Semi finals is a reschedule first then a bye. I suspect they'll have 13 fit players though so have to play

If that’s the rule then fair enough but it’s a stupid rule and I’m glad we had the sense to not bother with this joke of a competition:)

It seems they're including the known absences of Salah, Keita and Mane in their reasoning for a postponement, under the recently changed guidelines. The BBC articles suggests only 3 playing staff have positive cases so that, plus the 3 away at ACFON, plus injuries, means they must be around the 13 player limit.

Personally, as those 3 were never going to be available anyway, I think that's a little underhand.

Also looks like Klopp would miss the game if it went ahead on Thursday.

I'm not buying it they have a 32 man squad where are the missing players?
