Well we've got the biggest goal difference in the land...
One mans' boring is another mans' brilliance I suppose.

Respect.I actually had no respect for the old liverpool, and I have no respect for the current liverpool, and I will have no respect for the future liverpool.
I dunno, I know they're something of a bizarre cult but I have met some of their fans and they were pleasant and friendly. But i know you can't go by that. I mean I wouldn't care if they never won anything ever again, but I wouldn't say I hate them. I rate a lot of their players and view them as easily the second best team in the league. But I also think they'll decline much more when Klopp goes than City will when Pep goes.
I just find them less offensive than United and Chelsea. I like their generally socialist ideals, although the irony is in football terms they are far from socialist, they are bullies. But I like how they claim to be egalitarians in everyday life, I can get behind that political view. Compare that to the EDL loving right-wing Tory Chelsea slime and I have far more in common with Liverpool politically than Chelsea. Also, as someone whose area was decimated by the Tories in the 80s and 90s, I sympathise with how Liverpool is looked down on by vermin like Johnson etc. Yes they're weirdos when it comes to football but they're preferable to cunts like Chelsea and Millwall, Heysel aside. I am not English though, although I am British, so never really cared one way or the other about them other than what I am about to say in the next paragraph...
I think Gerrard is a complete tool of a guy and he put me right off them for many years, as did their scary devotion to him, which is as obsessive as United and Ronaldo. He was at his best as an attacking midfielder or number 10, never a central midfielder in a million years but he was deluded enough to think he was. I laughed a lot when he slipped.
yes that was my point, that they dont use their socialist theory in practice as football fans. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that they keep the realms of football and real life different ie theyre socialists in real life but behave like capitalists in football. If, however, their egalitarian talk is nonsense and they behave like bullies in real life too, then they're scum. I can just about forgive it with them in football, because football is far less important than some people having 10 houses while other people live on the streets. Although, alternatively, the wealth inequality in football trickles down into the real world and people's livelihoods too, so they're not actually separate realms.Thing is, they talk about socialism as being a set of principles that are vital and important to them - yet as a fanbase they’re forever telling everyone who’ll listen that they’re ‘football royalty’ with no sense of irony, and advocating for a closed shop which means only the clubs who have the highest revenues can invest in their teams. Essentially locking in the old ‘top 4’, and limiting the hope of actually winning anything meaningful to the same group of clubs ad infinitum.
There is nothing in how they behave as a fan base which in any way acknowledges the principles of wealth distribution, or the distribution of resources and opportunity - as a club and a fanbase, they advocate the worst form of capitalism. A cartel monopolising resources for the very few. To use their own terminology, they’re royalists.
All their talk of socialism is pure identity politics - when it comes to actually understanding and applying socialism in practice, they don’t want anything to do with it.
Bunch of pig thick hypocrites poncing about behind the idea of radicalism, with not a trace of courage behind their convictions - like a public schoolboy in a Che Guevara t-shirt!

Ultimately, we watch a sport where millionaires kick a ball around. if any of us had the courage of our convictions we'd give up football in the first place. We are all hypocrites, but yeah them more than most.
I mean technically celebrities who give to charity are hypocrites too. Even the rare ones who do it out of kindness than for PR. Where do you draw the line? If someone has 50 million quid and gives away 49 million, you can still argue one million is far more than anyone needs to live on (maybe not in London, but certainly in some areas of the world). I know that's a spurious and petty point but I am just saying everyone is a hypocrite to varying degrees.
If your only perspective was on the pitch and you luckily avoided meeting the cultish cunts in real life & avoided the media, then it would be understandable to acknowledge them as the 2nd best team in England in recent history. Their would be merits in watching their games without expressly wanting whoever they play to win for pure reasons of contrasting styles. Those of us whom had the misfortune to meet any of them or listened to the buck toothed whinging victim twunt of a manager will carry on hating them though.Bear in mind I have never supported a club that's a rival to Liverpool, or really been exposed to their cult as never been English and rarely visited their forums until recently. Plus I like watching them play which probably lends some bias in terms of not hating them off the pitch. They might well be cunts, who knows.
Spot on. And very similar to the GPC who also "identifies" as a socialist.Thing is, they talk about socialism as being a set of principles that are vital and important to them - yet as a fanbase they’re forever telling everyone who’ll listen that they’re ‘football royalty’ with no sense of irony, and advocating for a closed shop which means only the clubs who have the highest revenues can invest in their teams.
